Nokia’s latest handset, the N9 is due to hit the shelves later this year and from what we’ve heard, it packs quite a punch.

Unlike other handsets, the N9 doesn’t have a home button on the front; instead it is solely a touch screen which has three home screens. The first home screen controls app organisation, the second home screen shows notifications so that you’re constantly up to date with what your friends are doing and the final home screen shows all your currently running apps, making multi-tasking simple and easy. The handset does however, have three buttons on the side to control the sound, camera and to unlock the phone.

The N9 has an impressive curved 3.9” AMOLED screen, which boasts an 854 x 480 pixel display; meaning a Nokia N9 screen protector is advised to keep your screen crystal clear and in excellent condition.

Housed in a colourful polycarbonate shell, the Nokia N9 is powered by MeeGo, instead of Windows Phone which has powered previous Nokias. The outer shell may be stunning in colour, but there are plenty ofNokia N9 cases and Nokia N9 covers available to inject your individual style into the handset.

Nokia N9

Another great feature of the N9 is its 8MP camera which records and shoots in HD, meaning you’ll never miss an occasion; especially as most of the Nokia N9 case and Nokia N9 cover styles available contain a camera cut-out, as well as one for the charging port.

Functionality is key with the Nokia N9 handset, making it no surprise that the phone already has apps such as Angry Birds downloaded onto its massive memory space. If 64GB of memory isn’t enough on board memory, there are many Nokia N9 accessories available to help increase it.

An excellent addition to the Nokia family, the N9 has the style and innovation to rival many of the major smart phones available.

Great news Angry Birds fans; a few weeks ago we announced that Nokia was releasing Angry Birds hard covers for the E7, N8, C7, X7 and C6. Now we can tell you that we’ve got a selection of them coming into stock tomorrow!

These covers are exclusive to Nokia phones and there are three different styles to choose from: Red Bird, Black Bird or Pig King; so whether you’re a fan of the Pigs or the Birds there’s a hard cover for you.

Angry Birds Nokia C7 Cover

The Angry Birds selection we have coming in include: covers for the Nokia C7, Nokia C6 and Nokia N8; with covers for the other models due in soon.

Each hard cover, like the Nokia C7 cover, protects the back and sides of your handset from bumps, drops and scratches and is easy to install and remove, thanks to the simple snap on design.

To allow the handset to remain fully functional the Angry Birds Nokia C6 cover features all the relevant cut-outs including one for the camera and charging port.

However the screen is left unprotected so a Nokia C6 screen protector is advised for full protection.

The Nokia E7 is being classed as the next in the popular Nokia Communicator series, and aims to strike a balance between the professional and the personal with 16GB in-built memory for music and video, an 8MP camera with HD video recording and business app support from Microsoft and IBM so that you can work on the go. It also features a massive 4” display, which slides neatly up to expose a full QWERTY keyboard – making writing and editing documents a doddle.

We’ve been sourcing a variety of Nokia E7 accessories to give people the best possible experience from their E7. Here’s a rundown of our favourite five Nokia E7 cases to keep your phone both protected and stylish.

OtterBox For Nokia E7 Commuter Series

OtterBox can always be relied upon for top quality and maximum protection with a stylish edge. The Commuter series amalgamates the best features of their rugged, outdoorsy Defender series and the sleek, silicone Impact series, to give you a case that’s smooth, safe and functional. Exposed silicone corners re-route any shocks or impacts away from the handset, a smooth exterior layer keeps this case looking and feeling great and there’s easy access to all buttons and features via cut-outs. The pack also includes a cleaning cloth and a Nokia E7 screen protector.

Nokia Hard Cover CC-3009 for Nokia E7

Available in a range of colours (black/grey, black/blue and black/orange), the Nokia Hard Cover CC-3009 comes with all the reassurance of an officially branded case. It’s made from tough, hardwearing plastic with leather features, and fits around the E7 perfectly, clinging to its every curve. The Nokia E7 cover has a classic design with a racing-stripe pattern down the middle.

Nokia Carrying Case CP-520 for Nokia E7 – Pink

These carrying cases are a bit rough around the edges, but have a certain brash charm. They’re simple, stylish, come in a range of colours – and they get the job done. What more do you want?!

Krusell Orbit Flex for Nokia E7

Available soon – the Krusell Orbit is a genuine leather Nokia E7 case that’s been designed by product developer Robert Mazetti. With its removable flip lid, the Orbit gives you two looks in one. This is a case with function and utility in mind; the case features useful pockets for memory cards, as well as Krusell’s unique multi-adept system which gives you a range of clip-on attachment options for belt, car, pocket and bike. A flexible case for a flexible handset.

Noreve Tradition A Leather Case for Nokia E7

Also coming soon, Noreve puts style and elegance first with this luxury case made from top quality handcrafted leather. This is a flip case with handy openings for all E7 features and ports, and it has interior padding to keep the handset cushioned and protected. The interior lining is embossed with the Noreve logo, giving it that luxurious look and feel.

Well you’re not alone, and I must admit I have done the same. With the N8 not being compatible with a micro usb charger as you might expect with a modern smartphone, you’ll be glad to know that we stock the original Nokia 2mm pin charger as standard. If you’re after another type of Nokia N8 charger, from car chargers to portable wind up chargers, we’ve got the lot over on the MobileFun site.

As the summer draws to a close, we’re all feeling a little nostalgic, so let’s revisit some of our favourite handsets from this year.

July’s Nokia C3 is a sturdy little phone, which together with a range of cool colours (grey, gold and bright pink) and an aluminium cover on the back, gives it a reassuring robustness as well as being pleasingly chunky.

Nokia C3 with Silicone Cover CC-1004, Lime

Visually it’s immediately reminiscent of the BlackBerry, sporting as it does a full QWERTY keyboard and a landscape screen, which it’s probably a good idea to grab a Nokia C3 screen protector for. The C3 can’t be classed as a full smartphone, however, unlike the BlackBerry, but does have internet access via 2G or WiFi. The main focus of the phone is social networking, and Twitter and Facebook feeds can be delivered directly to the home-screen.

It’s one of the most low cost handsets from Nokia, and that along with the choice of colours and easy social media access make it a great choice for teenagers. They’ll enjoy choosing a Nokia C3 cover to give their phone a dash of that old teen spirit and originality, and there are a good selection of bright and beautiful cases to choose from over at our Nokia C3 accessories page.

I have used a few Bluetooth Visor Car Kits in the past only to find sooner or later (more sooner), I retire them to the Bluetooth graveyard located in a dark corner in the spare room at home. It always begins on a high with a promise to provide a ‘Hands-free’ but safe, convenient , compact, foolproof and law abiding way to receive and make calls while sitting in the comfort of a stationary or moving vehicle… However, eventually the honeymoon gloss fades and cracks appear to what first seemed a win, win situation.

Jabra SP700 Bluetooth Speakerphone

So when presented with the opportunity to try yet another Handsfree Bluetooth in-car visor product I did not climb over the office furniture or rugby tackle fellow colleagues to be first in the queue. However on this occasion a particular feature of the Jabra SP700 caught my imagination – it claimed to offer both voice and stereo music streaming direct from my Bluetooth enabled mobile phone to my in-car entertainment unit.

In the Box

The compact and stylish Bluetooth speakerphone also comes supplied with a visor clip that is already fitted, a USB charger cable, USB car charger and ‘plain English’ and compact user guide.

Jabra SP700 Bluetooth Speakerphone Box Contents

Getting Started

Just connect the USB charger cable to a spare USB port on your computer and up pops an illuminated red battery icon to indicated that it is charging. When fully charged this icon then changes to green. If you do not have easy or regular access to a computer then think about purchasing a USB Mains Charger and use the USB charger cable provided in the box when not in the car. On the front of the unit are a range of icons that illuminate to indicate what status the speakerphone is in. I will discuss these in detail later.

There is no dedicated off/on button, and although not immediately obvious, this function is activated by pressing and holding the front of the speakerphone; 2 seconds to switch it on and 4 seconds to switch it off. If like me, you tend to exit your vehicle and forget to switch the speakerphone off then do not worry, the SP700 has an auto-power off when the phone is out of its Bluetooth range.

Pairing the SP700 to your mobile phone couldn’t be easier; when you switch it on for the first time it automatically enters its pairing mode which is clearly indicated by an illuminated Bluetooth Status icon appearing. Next, just activate the Bluetooth function on your phone and set the phone to “discover” the SP700, enter the pin code (0000), mount it to your car visor and you’re good to go!

The Jabra SP700 clips neatly to your sun visor in the car

Controls

Now the SP700 is not big on controls, I have already mentioned the lack of an on/off button and it does not have any audio adjustment controls aside of a volume up & down button on one side of the unit, and there is also a FM transmitter button located on the opposite side.

Features

Now the SP700 provides the basic functions like any other like handsfree kit, as well as supporting extended features of some phone models like voice dialling – which as you may have already experienced is a potential Olympic Linguistic event in its own right. Also the SP700 features advanced noise reduction and echo cancellation that insures excellent sound quality on both sides of the call.

When using the SP700 the current status is clarified by a clear voice announcement – available in 10 languages – a treat no doubt for those multi lingual potential users out there or those wanting to practice some basic phrases before arriving at their international holiday destination this summer!

The voice announcer switches from a female to a male voice for different status alerts. However the announcement that caught me by surprise was the one that announced the caller ID of an incoming call – brilliant – and by pressing the front of the speakerphone I could answer or end the call. The announcer also confirms when the speakerphone is switched off and also when it has made connection with your mobile phone.

I found the clarity of the incoming call to be excellent by comparison to other Bluetooth visor speaker phones that I have used in the past, and I can confidently say that my voice was clearly received by my caller. I must admit that my vehicle suffers from very little cabin noise generally – however I also tested it in my wife’s 1.4 about town vehicle which isn’t a tractor by any means – but with mischievous and noisy kids in tow I still found the SP700’s speakerphone to be equally as impressive.

The Jabra SP700 has a classic, slim line design

The best feature is the FM transmission - A simple press of the FM transmission button illuminates the FM transmission icon and speakerphone mute icon, then kicks the voice announcer into action as she clearly tells you the FM frequency to tune your car radio to. If this frequency is congested by existing radio stations then you can make adjustments by 0.1MHz at a time using the volume keys, the announcer will recite the new frequency selected each time you make a change. My radios’ RDS function displayed the word JABRA to indicate that I had sourced the correct frequency and I promptly saved it to a spare preset number. This remains the fixed FM frequency unless you make a change as previously mentioned or reset the unit to factory settings. The only thing I did not have time to test was how the selected FM frequency would stand up to long journeys whereby you may drift into localised radio stations sharing the same frequency; however, the ease I found in changing frequencies leaves me quite confident that such an event occurring would not be a major problem to resolve.

The Nokia E71 phone was used to test the SP700 for streaming music to my car stereo, on hitting the play button on the phone, music came belting out almost immediately through the car speakers. The quality was fairly good, however I found that the SP700’s lack of audio controls came to haunt it as the volume controls previous used to adjust the FM frequency remain set to this function while in FM transmission mode, so you have to rely on your in-car audio controls to equalize the sound and adjust the volume. This sometimes is a problem when you switch back to the radio or CD mode as the volume can sometimes be far too high for those built in sources.

Taking calls using the FM transmission mode was a delight, however be aware that your calls may be picked up by a stranger who is tuned to the same FM frequency and in close proximity to your vehicle, so keep this feature just for music or calls that are not of a private or sensitive nature. On a final point if you turn off your radio or forget to change the status of the SP700 back to its own speakers, then the SP700 automatically disconnects from its FM transmission status following a period of non-use.

The SP700 boasts up to14 hours talk time & up to 255 hours standby however after a week of testing I am yet to re-charge.

Conclusion

I must admit the SP700 has not changed my preference which is to avoid taking calls while driving if I can, however when circumstances dictate that this is unavoidable or for those of you or where this is a day to day necessity then the SP700 does not disappoint, mainly because of its ease of use, functionality, portability and quality. The Ace up its sleeve however is the FM transmission that adds a more practical and up to date feature for all music lovers who have migrated their favourite playlists into the fashionable multi-media Bluetooth mobile phones that are currently available – a smart move by Jabra.

Nokia have the largest handset range of all the mobile phone manufacturers, and with most of their handsets looking pretty similar, getting the right accessories for your Nokia phone can be quite tricky – especially if you don’t know the model number of your phone.

Nokia have tried to keep it relatively simple over the years by dividing their handsets up in to ‘series’ or ranges. Probably the most well known range is the more recent N-Series, but every one of their handsets belong to a series of handsets whether it be 1000 series, 2000 series etc, where the series is determined by the first digit of the model number.

This short guide will show you a few quick and easy ways to work out which Nokia phone you have.

Check your phone

Some phones have the model number printed above the screen

This might seem like a really obvious thing to suggest, but some Nokia handsets will have their model number printed on the housing somewhere. If you have bought your Nokia direct from your network, you may find that the model number has been replaced with the networks logo. If this is the case – try the next step:

Check the box

Find your Nokia model number on the Box

Again, it might seem obvious, but if you’ve got the box to hand, look for a sticker with a series of barcodes on it – your model number will be printed on here.

Check on the Phone

Type in *#0000# to see information on your phone

All Nokia phones have a shortcode that you can type in to bring up information on the phone. This is probably the quickest and easiest method of checking your model number. From the main menu key in *#0000#. This will then show you your model number, the version of software running on the phone and a few other bits of info that you don’t need to worry about. The model of the handset will either appear in full (like the N95 shown below) or with the letter N before the model number (as shown on the Nokia 1208 below). Each handset is configured slightly differently, so how it appears on your phone may be slightly different to how its shown here. To go back to the main screen from here, just press ‘end call’ button.

Last Resort

Find your Nokia model number on the IMEI label

If you can’t turn your phone on and you don’t have the box, there is one last way to find out the model number of your Nokia, and that is to remove the back cover and battery from your phone and look on the IMEI label. The IMEI label is normally a white sticker with a couple of barcodes on it. Your model number will be printed somewhere on this label.

Since the launch of the iPhone App Store by Apple last year, we’ve seen an explosion in the amount of applications, games and ringtones for mobile phones. Phones are now getting smarter than ever before and many now allow us to install extra applications and add functionality to our phones. Over the next few weeks I’m going to be compiling a list of the top applications for each of the different mobile phone operating systems; Symbian S60 3rd edition, BlackBerry, Windows Mobile, Android, iPhone & Java.

Symbian S60 V3 Handsets From Nokia

I’m starting off with Symbian 60 3rd Edition (also known as S60 V3). If this doesn’t mean much to you, don’t worry, S60 V3 is probably the most common operating system and is found in most Nokia N-Series (N95, N96) and Nokia E-Series (E71, E66) handsets. Over the last few months there have also been a few handsets from Samsung that run S60 such as the Samsung INNOV8. The latest touch screen phones from Nokia – the N97 and the 5800 XpressMusic run on Symbian software, but as they are touchscreen, they run on S60 V5 so the applications listed here won’t work on them. I’ll be compiling a list of Symbian 60 5th edition applications shortly.

On to the apps then. All of these are free of charge and can be downloaded either through the Nokia Ovi Store or from Downloads.com.

1. Mobile Messenger

Mobile Messenger provides a universal instant messaging platform that works seamlessly across your desktop and mobile phone and fully integrates with your address book. As well as being able to chat using MSN/Windows Live Messenger you can also chat with AIM and Yahoo Messenger contacts. The application remembers your username and password for quick login, supports sound notification of a new message and reacts quickly. Mobile Messenger uses very small amounts of data, doesn’t drain your battery and is extremely easy to use. You can choose between sound or Vibration alert, have group chats and all your contacts appear in one clear list.

2. YouTube for Mobile

We all love killing time on YouTube, and this app makes it really easy to search for videos and play them back on your phone without having to navigate to their website first. During playback you can pause, fast forward and rewind as well as play video full screen in landscape mode. One slight word of warning here is that watching video’s uses a lot of data, so make sure you have an unlimited internet bundle on your account or are connected to a Wi-Fi network (if available on your phone).

3. Google Maps

Google Maps is an incredibly popular application on the internet, and there are times when it would come in handy when you’re out and about. The great news is that you can now get Google Maps on your phone. It’s not a scaled down version either, it’s a fully functional application that has been optimised to run on a mobile phone. You will need to pick up a GPS signal in order to use some of the features in Google Maps, so if your phone hasn’t got it built in, you’ll need to get yourself a Bluetooth GPS receiver. This will then allow Google Maps to track your location in the application for driving directions, business listings and traffic information. If you’re out walking and getting a little bit lost, Google Maps now has street view for major towns and cities that will help you figure out exactly where you are and where you need to go. Follow the link for download information and a demo video.

4. Trapster

This one is a must for drivers who don’t have safety camera alerts on their Sat Nav. It’s a GPS based app, so again you’ll need a Bluetooth GPS receiver if you don’t have GPS built into your phone. It uses your GPS location to warn you of any upcoming safety cameras, but the thing that makes this different to others, is that it’s interactive. If you find a location where there isn’t a camera, give it the thumbs down, if a new one appears, a couple of presses adds it to the database and other users will be warned too. As Trapster uses an internet connection for constant updates, it can warn you of upcoming safety cameras, Mobile speed cameras, Checkpoints, places where police are waiting with hand held speed guns and places where police frequently wait with the hand held speed guns. On a serious note though, this application isn’t an excuse to speed. It is a way to help protect your license. Speeding kills, so drive safely and don’t attempt to use your phone while driving.

5. Fring

Fring is similar to Mobile Messenger, in as much as it lets you chat to your friends, but supports a much wider range of IM apps. You can use Fring to chat to friends that use MSN/Windows Live, ICQ, Google Talk, Twitter, Yahoo and AOL. The big difference here is that you can also use Fring to call contacts on Skype and other VOIP services.

6. Joiku

Joiku is a great app that might remove the need to have a Mobile Broadband Dongle. When you launch Joiku, it creates a connection to your 3G mobile network, and then uses the WiFi antenna on your phone to create a wireless hotspot that you can then connect your laptop to in order to browse the internet. It’s not just limited to one laptop though, you can connect multiple devices all at the same time. I’ve got this installed on my N82 and frequently use it to connect my iPod Touch to the internet for emailing and internet. There are a couple of basic requirements for this app though. Your phone must have Wi-Fi Built in, and to avoid any nasty surprises with your bill you need to be on an unlimited internet tariff that includes laptop access.

7. Opera Mini

Browsing the internet on a mobile phone isn’t always the most enjoyable experience. The Opera Mini browser is much easier to use than the standard one built into most S60 devices and has a few more features too. If you use the Opera browser on your home PC you’ll be able to synchronise your bookmarks over the air, you can save pages for viewing later as well as view video’s from sites such as YouTube that are embedded into sites. You’ll also find that Opera Mini loads pages a lot faster than the standard browser too.

8. Bit Defender

As phones get smarter, so do viruses. Bit Defender is an anti-virus application for S60 devices. While it’s unlikely that you’ll get a virus on your phone, when you do they’re extremely difficult to remove without you losing all your data. There are paid anti-virus solutions available, but for a free one this does a great job.

9. Google Mobile

I’m sure there have been times where we have all needed to find the answer to something quickly – Google on your mobile is the first place I normally go, but having to wait for the internet browser to load, then type in google, then you have to wait for the page to load – it’s not really very fast. Google Mobile is a stand alone search app and can search your phone as well as the web. to find the information you need, just launch the app, type in what you’re after and hit search. Simple as that. Google Mobile is an app you’ll never want to be without.

10. Nokia Point & Find

I covered this recently when Nokia first announced it, It’s only availble for Nokia handsets, but this small app lets you discover useful and relevant information and services by simply pointing your camera phone at objects. For instance, point your camera phone at a movie poster on the street to read reviews, glance at ratings, lookup show times, and even find the closest theatre and purchase tickets in the UK if your phone has a built-in GPS. This one is still a beta application, which means there are known problems with it, and it might play up now and again.

That’s it, that’s our current top ten. Let us know what you think to these apps, or if you’ve found a great application that you can’t live without, then tell us about it using the comments form below.

Over the course of the next 12 months, all the big names in mobile phones will be moving over to just one type of charger – a Micro USB connection. The main reason behind the change is to reduce the amount of chargers that are being thrown away. Long term, I can see mobile phones not coming with a mains charger as manufacturers will assume you’ve already got one. Great if you live in a house where everyone has a different phone – you can now share chargers, and if you go on holiday and forget your charger, finding someone with a charger for your phone will be a whole lot easier!

There are already a lot of phones available that use a Micro USB charger; Both the BlackBerry Storm & Black Berry 8900 Curve, Nokia have the 6500 Classic and the recently released Nokia N97, and Samsung use Micro USB charging on the Samsung Omnia HD and the Samsung Jet.

Fed up of tangled cables?

This is of course great news, but you’re still going to need seperate chargers for any other accessories that you might have, your Bluetooth Headset for example. You’re still going to need a different charger for each device, and there is still a risk of leaving one behind when you pack for your travels.

Fortunately, there is a solution on its way. Micro USB chargers are also being adopted by accessory manufacturers, so you’ll be able to use the same charger on your headset as you use on your mobile phone.

Jabra, Nokia and Plantronics are all starting to introduce Micro USB charging to their range of Bluetooth Headsets and Stereo Bluetooth Headsets so I’ve put together a list of our top micro USB Bluetooth Headsets

Jabra

Jabra are well known for their Bluetooth Headsets; they work brilliantly, are simple to use, and most importantly they’re affordable. They have a wide range of headset available, 5 of which support Micro USB charging. The most popular ones are listed below:

The Jabra BT2050 Bluetooth Headset is the cheapest headset available that uses a Micro USB charger. The headset also has auto pairing so that you can be using it for calls in less than a minute. The BT2050 has up to 4 hours talk time and 180 hours standby time.

Jabra BT2050 Bluetooth Headset

Next up is the Jabra BT4010 Bluetooth Headset. It weighs just 9g so is extremely comfortable to wear and has a small LCD to show you the remaining battery life and connection status. The headset can be worn in the ear (as pictured below) or you can attach an ear loop to it and wear it on your ear. Battery life on the BT4010 is slightly better than the BT2050 with upto 6 hours talk time and 150 hours standby time.

Jabra BT4010 Bluetooth Headset

My favourite Bluetooth Headset from Jabra is the JX20 Pura. As well as being one of the nicest looking Bluetooth Headsets, the JX20 Pura is crafted with titanium and features auto pairing, removable ear hooks, digital sound enhancement and comes with a Desktop charging cradle that can be connected to your PC using a Micro USB cable to charge it while you’re working. The software in the headset can be updated, so you can be confident that it will always be fully compatible with your phone. The JX20 Pura weighs 13g and gives up to 6 hours talk time from a single charge.

Jabra JX20 Pura Bluetooth Headset

Nokia

Nokia have probably the largest range of Bluetooth headsets available, but Micro USB charging has only found its way into 4 of their top end headsets at the moment. They are compatible with all Bluetooth enable handsets, but you might be able to take advantage of a few more of their features when you use them with a Nokia phone.

The Nokia BH-703 Bluetooth headset can be worn in the ear or over the ear (using the optional ear loop as shown below). It features digital signal processing for improved audio clarity and has touch sensitive controls for handling your calls. If your phone supports it, you can swap calls, place calls on hold and activate voice dialling all without having to touch your phone. The BH-703 weighs in at just over 11g and gives upto 6 hours of talk time and 160 hours standby time. One of the great things about this headset is that it will charge fully in about an hour.

Nokia BH-703 Bluetooth Headset

The Nokia BH-803 Bluetooth Headset is another stylish headset with a hi-gloss black and chrome finish. It looks good and is designed to compliment most of their more recent handsets. In terms of features, it has pretty much everything the same as the BH-703 but is slightly smaller. Battery life is the same too, with up to 6 hours of talk time and 160 hour stand by.

Nokia BH-803 Bluetooth Headset

The Nokia BH-804 is Nokia’s Premium Bluetooth headset. It’s made from lightweight aluminium and comes with a coordinating charging stand. Controls are simple, one button to answer/end calls and activate voice dialling and another to adjust the volume. The headset is considerably smaller than the BH-703 and BH-803, and it weighs an incredible 7 grams. Charging time is around an hour and this will give you about 4 hours talk time or 120 hours standby.

Nokia BH-804 Bluetooth Headset

Plantronics

Not so many people have heard of Plantronics, but they are one of the biggest names in the world of headsets. Their main product range tends to be call centre equipment, but their knowledge in call handling means that they create some fantastic Bluetooth Headsets.

The Plantronics Voyager 835 Bluetooth Headset packs in a lot of extra features over the Nokia and Jabra headsets. I don’t know about you, but my biggest pet hate with Bluetooth headsets is wearing them on a windy day and being completely drowned out by the noise of the wind blowing over the microphone. Plantronics have solved this problem by building in 2 microphones that (in conjunction with wind noise reduction software) eliminates wind and background noise. The headset is also a Multipoint Bluetooth Headset which means you can pair and connect to two phones at the same time (What is Multipoint). When a call comes in on either phone, you’ll be able to answer it just by pressing the answer button on the headset, with out having to mess around disconnecting one phone and connecting to the other. The headset weighs 13g and a full charge will give you upto 5 hours talk time and 120 hours stand-by time.

Plantronics Voyager 835 Bluetooth Headset

The Plantronics Discovery 925 Bluetooth Headset is more of a fashion headset, but having said that it still has a lot of great features. It sits in the ear rather than hanging off it and has a boom microphone to increase your voice clarity. The headset comes with a stylish carry case that also charges the headset. You get 3 different sizes of ear bud included for a comfortable fit. Despite its size, the Discovery 925 still boasts up to 5 hours talk time and up to 170 hours stand-by time. The Discovery 925 also supports Multipoint and can be connected to two phones at the same time. (What is Multipoint)

Plantronics Discovery 925 Bluetooth Headset

Last but not least is the Plantronics Voyager 510 Pro. This is probably the most advanced bluetooth headset that we currently sell. It’s aimed at people that use their headset a lot and that need the best call audio possible. It has an adjustable boom mic with 2 noise cancelling microphones and windsmart technology – a more advanced version of the wind noise reduction from the Voyager 835. Rather than sitting on or in your ear, the Voyager 510 Pro actually sits behind your ear, which makes wearing it extremely comfortable and reduces the chance of it falling off significantly. The headset features auto pairing, voice prompts and multipoint technology. The battery in the Voyager 510 Pro will give you upto 6 hours talktime and 120 hours stand-by time from a single charge. This headset comes with a micro USB mains charger, micro USB charging cable and a micro USB car charger making it the perfect choice if your phone also uses micro USB charging.

Plantronics Voyager 510 Pro Bluetooth Headset

The number of devices that use micro USB charging is increasing all the time, so this list will grow over time. Don’t forget though that this isn’t all of the Bluetooth headsest that use micro USB chargers, just our favourite ones by each of the top 3 manufacturers. Check out our Bluetooth Headset pages for our full range.
