Here are five of the best Samsung Galaxy Note 3 covers, including some of the best new arrivals in 2014. Let’s get into the recommendations!
5. Smart Cover Case – Blue / Brown
The official Samsung S View cases are cool, but they’re quite expensive. This third-party alternative offers a similar plastic window in the front cover that shows notifications, but is a fraction of the price. The case also comes with a cool two-tone design, offered in blue / brown and black / white.
4. Spigen SGP Neo Hybrid Case – Reventon Yellow
This stylish case adds considerable protection to the Note 3, while hiding away the cheap plasticky cover under a much better feeling TPU cover. The case adds a splash of colour with its polycarbonate frame, which is available in the yellow colour shown above or slate, silver, white, red and gold. The overall effect is convincing; protection without sacrificing style or dimensions.
3. Zenus Masstige Lettering Diary Case
The ever-popular leather folio case is well represented by this example from Zenus, the Masstige Letter Diary. It is made from real leather for a glorious look and feel, not to mention impressive durability. The case’s front cover will protect your screen from damage, as well as holding credit cards in the internal pockets.
2. Otterbox Defender Series
The Otterbox Defender is one of the most well-respected protective cases on the market, adding considerable resistances to a wide range of hazards – including drops, knocks and scratches. The case comes in a simple black or white, and adds relatively little bulk for its protective powers.
1. Spigen Slim Armor View Case
This Note 3 case combines the best attributes of all the cases we’ve seen today into a single winning design. The case is functional, with an S-View style window for notifications and sleep/wake support. The case is good looking, with a slim design in black or white. The case is protective, with a dual-layer design that combines the rigidity of polycarbonate and the shock/scratch protection of TPU. The Spigen Slim Armor is a brilliant case, and my top choice for the Note 3.

The Samsung Galaxy S5 comes with a micro USB 3.0 port, unlocking the door to rapid charging and quick data transfers. It’s a great addition to see on the S5, but unfortunately Samsung have missed a trick by only including a USB 2.0 adapter in the box; just as they did with the Galaxy Note 3.
If you want to take advantage of the new tech, then you’ll need to pick up a USB 3.0 cable of your own. Thankfully, we’ve got plenty of options available here, from official Samsung accessories to cheaper third-party options. Let’s take a look!
Samsung Micro USB 3.0 Cable – Black, White
First up we have Samsung’s official accessory, the USB 3.0 Data Cable. You’ll get the new micro USB 3.0 connector on one end and a standard USB on the other end, which can plug into computers and AC adapters as normal. The cable comes in white or black, so you can choose the shade of your choice.
Capdase Micro USB 3.0 Cable – Black
Next up is a third-party option from trusted manufacturer Capdase. The cable is around a fiver cheaper than the official option, and is rated for the same high speed data transfers and charging as the Samsung option. The cable is only available in black, though.
Capdase Micro USB 3.0 Sync & Charge Cable 1.5m – Black
Samsung Travel Adapter with Micro USB 3.0 Cable – White
Our last item is this official Samsung travel adapter, which bundles a Samsung micro USB 3.0 cable with a folding AC adapter. The adapter provides 2A of power, making it perfect for rapidly charging the Galaxy S5. The travel adapter is available in white This is a great deal; costing only £2 more than the cable itself.
Note: These cables are all backwards-compatible with USB 2.0 ports, but remember that you need a USB 3.0 port to take advantage of the new higher file transfer speeds. These ports are standard on all recent desktops and laptops, and are often coloured blue to differentiate them from USB 2.0 ports. If you’re not sure if you have USB 3.0, check your the documentation from your manufacturer or post in the comments below.
Thanks for checking out the article, and be sure to let us know if you decide to pick up one of these awesome USB 3.0 adapters or any other of our official Samsung Galaxy S5 accessories. Have a good week ahead, and we’ll see you again next time.

Earlier today we looked at a waterproof case for the iPhone 5S, and now it’s time for a waterproof Galaxy Note 3 case. This one is called the Seidio Obex, and it’s an adaption of the well-received design we first stocked for the Galaxy S4.
The Obex provides IP68 rated protection against water and dust, allowing it to resist dust indefinitely and resist water at a depth of two metres for extended periods. The case also boasts impressive protection against drops and other impacts, and exceeds the MIL-STD-810F standard by surviving two metre drops at multiple angles. These attributes make it difficult for your smartphone to be damaged during regular use; you’d have to really try hard to lose it!
Of course, sealing your phone in a block of lead would also make it pretty resistant to water and drops – but obviously you’d lose a lot of usability! Thankfully, the Obex has also been designed to add relatively little bulk to your Note 3, ensuring you can still fit it in your pocket easily. The screen also remains fully usable, and port covers throughout allow you to listen to music on headphones or charge your phone without bother.
The Obex looks like a great case for anyone that is worried about damage to their phone – just clip it on, then relax in the knowledge that your phone will be kept out of harm’s way. You can drop your phone in the sink, leave it on the beach or slide off the desk and you’ll still be just fine.
The Seidio Obex will be available for the Galaxy Note 3 in the weeks ahead. For the latest pricing and availability information, you can always check the product page linked below — we’re also likely to let our followers on Twitter and Facebook when it comes in stock, so be sure to follow either of these for word of new releases.
Thanks for checking out the article, and have a great weekend ahead!

Got a Galaxy Note 3? You can look forward to a threesome of cool new cases and accessories for the phone from expert casemakers Spigen SGP
. These include the Spigen Slim Armor View Case, which includes a viewport built into the front cover, and the Magnetic Clip accessory, which complements Samsung’s own S-View and Flip Covers, helping them stay flush with the screen of your phone.
Let’s take the Slim Armor View first. This case combines the Slim Armor styling we’ve seen from Spigen SGP before with the innovative S View style window that Samsung debuted on the Galaxy S4. Just like these official covers, you’ll be able to see the time, incoming notifications and other information without flipping the cover back – just tap the lock button and it’ll all be laid out before you. You can also answer calls without opening the case either; just swipe on the window to accept or reject. It’s a clever system, and definitely takes a lot of the bother out of having a flip case. Where this case differs from other flip cases on the market is that it’s highly armoured, boasting a hybrid design with a polycarbonate midsection supplementing a TPU shell. It looks good too, and is available in black and white.
Our next item is the Magnetic Clip, a cool accessory that fixes a common problem with flip cases: they just flipping open by themselves! Samsung’s S View cases have had this issue for a while now, so it’s nice to see a solution other than re-creasing the flip cover or resting the phone face-down most of the time. The clip ensures a perfectly tight seal every time, and ensures that dust and dirt doesn’t have the opportunity to slip between cover and screen.
For more information or to pre-order either of these items, check out the product pages below. You also might want to visit the Samsung Galaxy Note 3 accessory page, to see our entire range of cases, chargers and all other accessories for this popular phablet.
Thanks for reading and have a good one!

The official Samsung S View covers for the Note 3
are brilliant cases, but at £50 they’re definitely at the high end of the market. That’s why we’re happy to introduce a more affordable alternative – the Samsung Galaxy Note 3 Smart Cover.
The Smart Cover comes with a clear plastic window, allowing you to easily see incoming calls and other notifications. You can touch the screen through the window, allowing you to see all kinds of useful information without exposing the screen to potential damage. That means you get the protection of a traditional flip cover, without the hassle of opening the cover each time you want to use the phone.
There’s plenty of info on tap as well – you can show the time, date, weather and steps taken, or a screen with shortcuts to the camera, action memo and music controls. Cleverly, only the pixels under the window are activated – the remainder are kept off, saving power.
As well as being informative, the Smart Cover looks great and adds minimal bulk to your phone. That’s because it replaces the existing rear cover with a more durable version, instead of sitting on top of it like most other cases. Combined with the thin flip cover, and you’re looking at barely noticeable increase in size and weight.
The Smart Covers are a Mobile Fun exclusive case for the Note 3, and will be in stock from tomorrow in two colour options – black/white and blue/brown. To see additional information and to order your own, check out the product pages:
