While smartphones these days like the Galaxy S2 and iPhone 4S provide excellent point-and-shoot photos, they just can’t compare to a full-size DSLR. These mammoth beasts are the tool of choice for professional photographers, but you have to get some of the most expensive models in order to enjoy many of the features that are standard on a smartphone these days, like built-in spirit levels or automatic cloud uploading.
The Flash Dock is an interesting solution to this problem: a smartphone dock for your DSLR. Attaching via the universal hotshoe flash socket on the top of your camera, the Flash Dock lets you use your smartphone’s apps in concert with your DSLR. You could make sure you’re shooting straight with a spirit level app, use your camera’s softer flash instead of the DSLR’s built-in flash, or even edit your photos as they’re taken. If there’s an app for it, you can use it with your DSLR.
The Flash Dock is also good in combination with other DSLR peripherals like BlueSLR, which allow you to geotag your photos over Bluetooth, or the EyeFi SD card which will copy your photos over to your smartphone in real time. You can even use your phone’s built-in microphone to record audio while your video camera handles the video.
- Use your smartphone as an external flash
- Use your smartphone as a stereo microphone
- Use a spirit level app to get a perfectly straight shot
- Combine with EyeFi SD card to review and save each photo as they’re taken
- Combine with BlueSLR for automatic photo geotagging

Today I’d like to spotlight one of our most popular premium Bluetooth headsets – the Plantronics Voyager Pro+. Why do we love this Bluetooth headset so much? I’d say it’s because of its focus on getting the core experience just right – like a Macintosh, this headset uses a clever design and advanced features to excel in its field.
The dual microphones backed with AudioIQ² noise cancelling technology ensure crisp communication at all times. This is taken to the next level with three levels of WindSmart tech, inacluding stainless steel microphone screens, acoustic fabrics and an electronic filter.
There are other clever features included too, including A2DP technology for streaming audio, useful voice prompts, and there’s even an iPhone app that displays the headset’s battery level. The headset’s good for six hours of continuous talk time before needing a charge, and will last five days on standby. The Pro+ also feels comfortable and natural to wear. The curved frame of the headset rests comfortably on your ear, ensuring easy long-term use.
We’re not the only ones that are fans of the Voyager Pro Plus - critics loved it too. Hexus say they’d recommend it “to the business user who needs a clear, crisp and dependable connection to their smartphone” and score it 9/10. CNET gave it 4/5, praising its features and performance. PC Magazine gave it a 4/5 too, calling it “a great-sounding Bluetooth headset that’s comfortable to wear for extended periods.”
So if you’re looking for a premium Bluetooth headset, then definitely check out the Plantronics Voyager Pro Plus.

Mobile Fun is expanding with the introduction of the wildly popular Skylanders franchise.
If you’ve never played before, here’s the skinny: Skylanders: Spyro’s Adventure is a video game where you become a Portal Master, exploring the land of Skylanders with one of thirty-seven characters, battling creatures, collecting gold and treasure, and solving puzzles. Each character has different stats and abilities, lending each a different style of play.
Skylanders characters in the game are unlocked by connecting on of the Skylanders figures to your Portal of Power peripheral. You can also unlock more levels in the game by connecting through Skylanders adventure packs. You can play on your choice of consoles, including Xbox 360, PS3, Wii, 3DS and PC.
The fun gameplay and collecting mechanics made the franchise the holiday gift of the year, and even now it can be hard to find some characters in stores. That’s where we’re fitting in to help, offering a wide selection of Skylanders including a Skylanders triple pack range, which offers three characters in one box. These Skylanders assortment packs are great for quickly bolstering your stable of Skylanders. We offer all of the Skylanders packs available, including the Adventure Triple Assortment Pack E and Pack C, which include some of the most popular characters, like Eruptor, Chop Chop and Dino-Rang.
We’ll be adding more packs and figures as they are released, so you can always rely on us for your Skylanders needs. If you’ve got any questions or comments, add them below! What do you think of the Skylanders franchise?

If you travel in your car a lot or frequently use your phone throughout the day, then you need a car charger so that you never run out of juice. There’s plenty of car chargers out there to chose from, whether it’s a fancy dock and charger or one of the simple USB car chargers available. I’ve taken a closer look at three of our most popular car chargers available:

Navigon iPhone 4S / 4 Car Holder with Charger
Navigon iPhone 4/4S Car Holder and Charger
I actually own a Navigon as my iPhone 4S car charger and what I personally like about it is its curved style. It looks a lot more stylish than other car charger and dock combos, but does the job just as well.
This car holder can be stuck to your windscreen at the angle to suit you with the simple suction cup. Therefore you can position it in a place on your windscreen which is not only safe but also comfortable to use.
When using the Navigon you can angle it so that your phone is in either a portrait or landscape view, which is great for when using the maps feature of your iPhone, or for plugging in phone chargers, FM transmitters and other accessories.
Using an accessory like the Navigon you still have all the features of your phone available but your phone is docked safely and securely whilst doing so.
The included car charger is a simple USB charger meaning you can use your own cable and it’s compatible with both cars and trucks.

USB Car Charger Adapter
USB Car Charger Adapter
The USB car charger adapter is in my eyes a staple accessory for any car.
Cheap and cheerful, this USB plug slots into the cigarette lighter and will charge any accessory via USB. This means not only can you charge your phone, but you could charge a Kindle, hand held gaming system like the DS and even tablets.
This means that if you’re on a long journey, you can keep your passengers occupied without the fear of batteries running out and calls of ‘Are we there yet?’
Compatible with any USB cable, this charger can be used on its own or with a dock, making it multi-functional and essential. The plug can hide away in your glove box when not in use but you’ll be glad it’s there when you run out of juice!

Genuine Samsung Galaxy S2 i9100 Vehicle Dock
Genuine Samsung Galaxy S2 Vehicle Dock
The last dock and car charger on my list is the Genuine Samsung Galaxy S2 Vehicle Dock. In a similar way to the Navigon it docks and charges your phone, so it’s a great Samsung Galaxy S2 car charger.
Being an official product, the perfect fit and compatibility is assured with this vehicle dock. It clips your phone in place safely and securely ensuring that it won’t fall out if you take a corner too hard.
Like the Navigon it can be attached to your windscreen by a simple suction cup, meaning you can dock your phone safely and legally, at the most comfortable angle for you. To add even more comfort you can view your phone in portrait or landscape, so again it’s great for SatNav apps.
The USB charger fits nicely into the phone and like all Samsung chargers keeps your phone fully juiced whilst you’re on the go.
Sleek and sophisticated, this is a great vehicle dock and charger for all S2 owners.
So that’s my top three; whether you agree or disagree let me know through the usual channels

If you’re looking for our best Kindle lighted leather cover, then look no further: The Luminous Case with Light for Amazon Kindle is the answer. Available in four colours, this hardy vegan leather Kindle cover includes everything you need for reading your Kindle in any amount of light.
The included light attaches securely to a built-in magnet, allowing perfect positioning and a steady stream of photons. The battery-powered light is kept inside the case when not in use, making it very easy to ensure the whole kit is kept together.
The vinyl case is ideal for protecting the Kindle, and looks quite fancy as well. There’s a soft microfibre lining to protect the Kindle’s screen, somewhat obviating the need for a dedicated screen protector. The slide-in pocket ensures that the Kindle remains in position at all times. This is one of the nicest vegan leather Kindle cases we stock, proving that you don’t have to sacrifice quality to be environmentally friendly.
Moving outside the cover, you’ll see a detachable wrist strap that allows for easy reading on the go. You’ll also note that with the cutouts present in the case, you can charge your Kindle whilst keeping it fully protected.
