Friday Download’s featuring our Desk Pets

Friday, April 27th, 2012

Check out Friday Download on the CBBC channel tonight at 6pm as they’re going to be featuring our Desk Pets and putting them through their paces…

Desk Pet TankBot

The Desk Pets are really cool little remote control TankBots that are nice and bright and fun for all ages.  We’ve got them in either grey, orange or green or you could get all three and race them together!

Woking with both Apple and Android devices, you simply download the free app and you’re ready to go.  Each DeskPet is charged via USB too so runs off its own power source.

One of the most fun iPhone accessories around, the Desk Pets have three modes: the first mode is the touchless navigation mode where the TankBot drives around avoiding objects and navigating mazes.  Mode two allows the TankBot to roam around freely using flashing lights and sounds and the third mode allows you to manually control the TankBot from your phone.

Each TankBot has a mind of its own and when raced together the TankBots really shine.  As they all run on separate frequencies you don’t have to worry about crossing connections, making each race a thrill.

The TankBots can travel over a number of different surfaces – so imagine the fun you can have with a TankBot obstacle course!

We love them but we’ll see what the Friday Download team think tonight!

Friday, April 20th, 2012

Spring is finally here, and it’s time to celebrate with some vernal iPhone accessories. We’ve got everything covered, so if you’ve been looking for an excuse to accessorise your iPhone or just discover something fresh and cool, then read on.

5. Power Support Anti-Glare Screen Protector

With spring comes sunshine – it’s great for you and me, but it’s not ideal for your phone. In direct sunlight even iPhones can be difficult to see – unless you’ve got an anti-glare screen protector. This model from Power Support provide the normal protection against scratches you’d expect, but also includes a powerful anti-glare coating to ensure your iPhone remains readable no matter what the weather.

4. BookBook iPhone case

The BookBook iPhone case is an absolute classic – a premium case drenched in personality and style. As well as providing excellent protection against bumps and drops thanks to the high quality leather construction, the BookBook also integrates a wallet for convenience. It’s a case that will always draw comments, wherever you go.

3. Capdase Car Air Vent Holder

Spring also brings with it necessity of air conditioning – and this case is designed to make full use of that particular feature. The Capdase Car Air Vent Holder attaches conveniently to your vehicle’s air vent, making it easy to access your iPhone without blocking the windscreen.

2. Powermonkey Crystal Explorer V2

The Powermonkey Crystal Explorer is a seriously cool iPhone accessory – it allows you to charge your phone using solar power. While that’s not ideal for English climes most of the time, now that it’s spring and summer the Powermonkey comes into its prime, providing limitless battery life as long as you’re picking up the photons.

1. LifeProof iPhone case

If you’re looking to take advantage of the newly nice weather by spending time in the great outdoors, then a LifeProof iPhone case can be just the ticket. It provides resistance to pretty much anything you might encounter – water, dust, drops and dents. It even allows you to use your iPhone 4S underwater for amazing photographs. It’s this awesome feature that brings the LifeProof iPhone case to number 1 today.

6 of our latest iPhone 4S accessories

Wednesday, April 18th, 2012

If you’ve been waiting for all these Android articles to draw to a close in favour of Cupertino’s finest, this is the article for you – 5 of our latest iPhone 4S accessories for your perusal. Let’s get right into it with an accessory that’ll appeal to your inner child – or your actual children!

1. iFoolish Magic Drawing Case

It’s not as professional looking as an iPhone 4S leather case, but it’s much more fun – it’s an Etch-a-Sketch style drawing case. It’s called the iFoolish Magic Drawing Case, and it allows you to customise your iPhone case and keep the kids entertained at the same time.

2. Avantree Universal Battery Pack

This one has got to be one of the most important iPhone accessories for anyone that’s on the move a lot. It’s an Avantree Universal Battery Pack, and it allows you an extra 2200 mAh of power in a convenient charging station – good enough to more than double your iPhone’s battery life – never get caught out again!

3. Dension Dock n Drive

The Dension Dock n Drive is a complete in-car solution for iPhone, acting as a iPhone 4s car charger, command console app and iPhone 4 car holder. That means your iPhone will stay topped up, you can easily access common driving applications like GPS, and your phone remains in exactly the right position.

4. Ultraglass Protective Screen Cover

If you’re tired of fiddling around with plastic sticky screen covers that result in annoying bubbles, then the UltraGlass iPhone screen protector may be just the thing for you. As well as being much easier to apply, UltraGlass is also a lot stronger, allowing your screen to hold up to much more punishment.

5. Phillips FlexAdapter Flexible Charging Stand

This Phillips FlexAdapter Flexible Charging Stand is brilliant for keeping your iPhone topped up when it’s on your desk. As well as providing a 30 pin Apple connector for syncing and charging, the stand also keeps your iPhone within easy reach. It works in both landscape and portrait orientations too, so you can choose which works best for you.

Bonus: Kogeto Dot 360 degree video camera

This Kogeto Dot is one of the most unique iPhone accessories I’ve ever seen. It connects to the camera of the 4S, and through the magic of mirrors allows you to record 360 panoramic video – just like Google’s street view cars, just on a smaller scale. This makes for some really neat videos, where you can move the viewpoint in real time to experience the whole scene. Check it out below!

I’ve hoped you’ve enjoyed this romp through our latest iPhone 4 accessories - as always, if you’d like to get in touch with a suggestion or question feel free to write to us via the form below. Thanks for reading.

Draco Design cases win red dot design award

Monday, April 16th, 2012

I’ve liked Draco Design cases ever since we started stocking them, but it looks like I’m not the only one. These cases are taking off in the United States and Japan, and Mobile Fun is the first to bring them to the UK.

As well as being a real hit with users, the Draco Design cases are also catching the eye of designers, including an honorable mention in the prestigious red dot design award.

Red dot dates back to 1955 and is one of the world’s most dinguished design competitions – and of the 4500 designs entered entered this year, and only a handful have won. Looking at the curves and precision industrial design of the Draco Design cases, it’s easy to see why these cases were among them.

The aluminium bumper is made of aircraft-grade aluminium on a precision 5 axis CNC mill, making it impressively durable and resistant to damage. That means your phone’s vulnerable corners will be completely protected, yet the slim fit of the design means that your phone doesn’t become too bulky.

The designs, which are available for the iPhone 4S and Samsung Galaxy S2, are perfectly moulded to each device’s shape, allowing access to the original features like buttons and both front and rear-facing cameras. Each handcrafted case also uses an ergonomic shape to fit more easily in the hand. Absolutely everything has been carefully considered here, and that thoughtful design really comes though in the dramatic look of the case.
