Three cases that turn your Kindle into a book

Wednesday, December 21st, 2011

The Kindle is selling like hot cakes this Christmas, so the elves here at Mobile Fun have been working extra hard to try and source new Kindle covers for the Kindle 4.  Here’s three of my favourites which make your Kindle look like a book!

Lightwedge Verso Amazon Kindle Cover

The first of our Amazon Kindle covers which makes your Kindle look like a book is the Lightwedge Verso cover.  Designed in a gorgeous antique red colour, this case offers rugged protection on the outside and a soft microfibre interior so that your Kindle is both protected and cushioned.

Padded to provide extra protection from bumps and minor impacts, the Lightwedge Verso Kindle 4 cover does this without adding any unnecessary bulk to your Kindle .

The Verso holds your Kindle securely with four elastic straps, therefore all the buttons, ports and features are still completely functional and accessible whilst your Kindle is in the cover and you don’t have the fear of your Kindle moving in the cover either.

It’s a beautiful case, which not only oozes elegance and class, but provides first rate protection.

KleverCase False Book Case for Amazon Kindle

The KleverCase quite literally disguises your Kindle as a famous work of fiction, fooling people into thinking that you’re carrying around an antique book, when really it’s your e-reader.  Some of the books available are:  Alice in Wonderland, Dracula and A Midsummer Night’s Dream, plus many more.

Available in a variety of designs the KleverCase Kindle case is handcrafted using original book binding methods to add extra protection from day to day bumps and scratches.  The interior of the KleverCase boasts gorgeous designs too, giving a feel of luxury to the case.

To keep your Kindle safe whilst it’s in the KleverCase, this Amazon Kindle cover has a precision moulded interior where your Kindle sits.  All of the features and ports of your Kindle are still accessible whilst it’s in the case, meaning that your Kindle stays fully functional and protected at all times.

Jivo Leather Book Case for Amazon Kindle

Finally we have the Jivo Leather Book case.  This leather Kindle cover will be available in the new year and it comes in a variety of colours.  This cover is elegant and sleek in its design making it perfect for business men and those who like to keep their gadgets looking smart.

Offering excellent protection, the Jivo Book Case has a luxury leather outer lining and a soft microfibre interior: so not only does it protect from day to day bumps and scratches but it also cushions your Kindle and helps to keep it looking newer for longer.  This new Kindle cover offers all this protection without adding any bulk to your e-reader.

The case has an interior slip pocket for storing any documents and a magnetic closing mechanism, so all your documents and your Kindle are safely locked away and won’t fall out during transport.

To help keep your Kindle fully functioning you can still access all the ports and features of your Kindle including the charging port, meaning you can still use your Kindle charger whilst your Kindle is in the Jive Book Case.  Stunning and highly practical, the Jivo Book Case sets to impress.

Show your wild side with a new Amazon Kindle cover

Thursday, December 15th, 2011

The Kindle and it’s accessories are proving to be really popular this Christmas; the second we get them in stock they’re flying off the shelves – so why not buy a Kindle cover which shows off your wild side, like the Zebra Luminous Case with Light.

This Kindle cover protects your Kindle whilst letting your animal instinct show through the Zebra print on the outer vinyl of the case.  Even better the cover comes complete with a Kindle light so you can keep reading until the early hours of the morning without straining your eyes.

The light attaches to a clever little magnet on the cover so you don’t always have to use it.  When it’s not in use the cover has a dedicated slot for the light, so it’s packed away nicely ready for when for need it next.  Great for if you’re travelling or just want to finish that last chapter before you go to sleep!

Luminous Case with Light for Amazon Kindle

What’s really great about the Luminous Kindle covers is that they’re available in a wide range of colours and not only do they protect your Kindle but they look stylish too.  The outer cover protects from bumps, drops and scratches, whilst the soft microfibre interior of the cover cushions your Kindle and keeps your screen looking newer for longer.

Another great feature of this cover is that it comes complete with a detachable wrist strap, meaning that you can carry it over your wrist without the risk of dropping your Kindle.

An excellent Amazon Kindle cover at a low price, the Zebra Luminous Case with Light is the perfect accessory for those who like to live on the wild side.

Kindle Keyboard & Kindle Compared

Monday, November 7th, 2011

Amazon has a silly habit of launching products without satisfactory names, choosing instead to just have the new product take its predecessor’s name. That’s definitely the story with the Kindle, with has just seen a product refresh. The new Kindle could be called the ‘Kindle 4′, but instead Amazon have titled it simply as the ‘Kindle’ and renamed the older Kindle as the ‘Kindle Keyboard’.

Confused yet? Probably the easiest way to see the difference is to have a look at the top of the page; as you can see there’s a Kindle on the left with no keyboard and a Kindle on the right with a keyboard. The Kindle on the left is the new Kindle; the one on the right is the renamed Kindle Keyboard.

Here’s a close-up of the new Kindle. As you can see, it’s noticeably bereft of the full keyboard found on all other Kindles to date. Instead, it uses just a few buttons on the bottom of the device, with a directional button and four ancillary buttons.

This makes the Kindle slightly smaller than the older Kindles, with more of the chassis devoted to the screen instead of the hardware keys, which were rarely used in most circumstances.

Otherwise, things are mostly unchanged – it still uses the same monochrome e-ink display as its predecessors, with the same amount of storage. Unfortunately, 3G isn’t available with this new Kindle.

It does come at a much lower price than previous Kindles as well, although this is balanced against a new edition: ads. These ads appear when the Kindle is off and on the home screen, but thankfully don’t appear in the text of the book itself.

So that’s the new Kindle — there’s a Kindle Touch and Kindle Fire as well, but they haven’t yet been released in the UK so we don’t have to worry about their nomenclature.

So, just to summarise: If you’re looking, for example, for a new Kindle cover, then you’d look with the phrase ‘Kindle cover‘. If you were looking for the older Kindle, you’d be looking with the phrase ‘Kindle Keyboard cover.’

If you have any questions about the Kindle, or are looking for a specific mobile or tablet accessory (e.g. a kindle cover with light) then let us know via the comment or Twitter or Facebook!

Three Fantastic Kindle Jackets

Friday, June 17th, 2011

The Amazon Kindle really has changed the way in which we read and buy books.  It’s rare to see someone reading a physical book today and with such power and information stored on the Kindle; it’s fair to say that they need some serious protection.  It’s with this in mind that we’ve put together a list of our Top Three Kindle Jackets.

Luminous Case with Light

The first Kindle case of our rundown, the Luminous Case with a light; is a vinyl case with an attached magnet for the light to snap on to.  This means the light can easily be removed and re-attached as and when needed.  When it’s not in use the light can be stored away in the in-built dedicated slot for it, so you’ll always have it with you.

The Kindle cover also comes with a detachable wrist strap, allowing extra grip on the microfibre lined case and further preventing accidental bumps and scrapes to your Kindle.
