LG Optimus 3D best accessories

Thursday, July 7th, 2011

The first 3D phone to be released which doesn’t require glasses, the LG Optimus 3D promises to change the way in which we use our smartphones in the future.  Allowing you the option to switch between 2D and 3D seamlessly, the Optimus 3D uses technology called the parallex barrier to create its 3D effect.

In order to celebrate the SIM Free LG Optimus 3D tomorrow, we’ve put together a list of the best 5 LG Optimus 3D accessories.

Replacement Battery

Battery power is an issue every smartphone owner faces, as there’s nothing worse than reaching lunch time and seeing that your battery is on red.  If you’re anything like me you then sit and watch your battery power crawl down all the way to 5%, then panic sets in.

A great idea to overcome this is to invest in an LG Optimus 3D battery, which you can then swap out with your old battery once it runs out of battery.  This way you get twice as much battery power without adding any bulk to your handset and you get to avoid the panic of low battery life.

Martin Fields Screen Protector

Every handset deserves the protection a good screen protector has to offer and the Optimus 3D is no different.  Martin Fields have released an LG Optimus 3D screen protector which not only protects the screen from scratches, but is also anti-glare and washable.

The super thin screen protector allows you to have a crystal clear view of the handset’s impressive display, which protecting it from the damage that day to day activities and dust can cause.

Another great feature of the Martin Fields screen protector is that it can be washed and re-applied meaning it lasts longer and any impurities which may appear on the screen protector can be removed.

LG CCH-140 Kick Stand Hard Case

One of the official LG Optimus 3D cases available, the CCH-140 prides itself on looking great yet being multifunctional.  It’s made from a tough TPU material which offers durable protection to the back and sides of the handset, whilst still looking stylish.

The great feature about this case is that it has an integrated kickstand, making viewing media and surfing the internet much more comfortable, as you can use your phone in both portrait and landscape viewing modes.  Once you’ve finished with the kick stand it simply snaps back into your LG Optimus 3D case, providing a flush finish.

The case has cut-outs for the camera and various other ports meaning that it remains fully functional whilst in the case.

LG SCS-400 Car Holder

A staple for those who frequently travel, this LG Optimus 3D car holder is designed to firmly hold your smartphone whilst been able to be positioned at a variety of angles.

The car holder allows for a full 360 degree rotation, meaning that it can be placed in a position which is both comfortable and legal whilst driving.  The base of the unit can be attached to practically any flat surface, meaning it can be mounted to both the windscreen and dashboard of your car; which ever is more comfortable for you.

Easy to attach and remove, the LG Optimus 3D car kit is built specifically for the Optimus 3D so you can be sure of a perfect fit and functionality.

Case-Mate Pop Cover

The newest member of the Case-Mate family, the Case-Mate Pop features a unique built-in kickstand and has the style to rival any LG Optimus 3D cover on the market.

The Case-Mate Pop cover provides unbeatable protection to the back, sides and even the screen of your handset; as it features a slightly raised bezel which will protect the screen if the phone falls face down.

Unlike many other LG Optimus 3D covers, the Pop cover has a patterned interior that absorbs shocks; which combined with the high gloss plastic shell provides complete protection from bumps, scratches and drops.

Similar to the Official LG kickstand case, the Case-Mate Pop has a kickstand on the back of the cover, which can be ‘popped’ out and used at either a portrait and landscape angle.  This makes viewing media, surfing the internet and playing games more comfortable.  Once you’ve finished with the stand you can simply push it back into the cover, where it becomes part of the case.

As with other LG Optimus 3D cases and covers, the Case-Mate Pop contains all the cut-outs needed to keep the handset fully functioning whilst its in the cover.

Sony Ericsson XPERIA Neo accessories – our top five

Wednesday, July 6th, 2011

The SIM Free Sony Ericsson XPERIA Neo hit our shelves last week and so far it’s really impressing us.  With its chic design, 3.7” screen and impressive 8MP HD video camera, the Xperia Neo is another top smartphone in the Xperia range.  To help celebrate the success of the handset, we’ve put together a run down of our favourite 5 Sony Ericsson XPERIA Neo accessories.

Exogear Exomount Universal Case Compatible Car Mount

A good car holder is needed for any handset, especially if you frequently drive long distances. The Exogear Exomount is the perfect Sony Ericsson XPERIA Neo car holder for this, as not only is it universal to all handsets, but it is also case compatible, a feature which not many car holders have.

The Exomount has a patented suction mount which can be attached to nearly any flat surface, so it’s compatible with most dashboards and windscreens.  Another great feature of the Exomount is that it uses a ball and socket joint which rotates a complete 360 degrees, making it easy to use the mobile phone car holder at a comfortable angle; especially for those who use the SatNav on their handset.

Amazingly, the clip and grip holder of the Exomount can stretch up to 5”, meaning mounting and unmounting your handset is easy; plus the car holder can handle handsets with cases as thick as an Otterbox on, without damaging them.

Sony Ericsson LiveDock Multimedia Station

Available for pre-order, the Sony Ericsson LiveDock Multimeida Station is a Sony Ericsson XPERIA Neo charger and so much more.  The LiveDock practically turns your handset into a mini PC, allowing you to simultaneously charge and sync your handset, whilst playing on your favourite apps.

The LiveDock is a small and discreet Sony Ericsson XPERIA Neo desk stand, which like the handset itself proves that even beautiful and stylish things can pack quite a powerful punch.

InvisibleSHIELD Full Body Protector

Known for its high quality protection, the InvisibleSHIELD full body protector is the ultimate Sony Ericsson XPERIA Neo screen protector on the market.

A little known fact about the InvisibleSHIELD is that it has its origins in the U.S Military, where it was used to protect the edges of helicopter blades from wear and tear whilst they were travelling at speeds of over 100 miles per hour.  This means the protective nature of the Sony Ericsson XPERIA Neo cover can’t be questioned.

Made from urethane plastic, the clear film will protect the handset from scratches, scrapes, dirt and dust; which are the main cause of screen damage.  For a handset with such style as the XPERIA Neo, a mobile phone screen protector is advised from the minute you take it out of the box, in order to preserve the handset’s beautiful condition.

Fanny Wangs on Ear Wang Headphones

Fanny Wangs are the latest premium headphones to cause a storm here in the UK, but what makes them really stand out from other headphone brands, is that the designers paid equal attention to both the sound quality and the style of the headphones themselves.

The iconic Wang design features a classy headband and a duo-fold structure complete with sturdy aluminium hinges and comfortable ear cups: mixing functionality with style.

Sound quality wise, the Fanny Wangs deliver excellent bass quality and crystal clear mids and highs, putting them miles ahead of the competitors which sometimes end up muffling the bass line.  Thanks to their 40mm titanium-plated matched drivers, the Fanny Wangs provide perfect clarity, in all conditions.

Another great feature of the Fanny Wangs is that they come with a Duo Jack, so your friends can plug in their headphones to see what you’re listing too.  This makes the Fanny Wangs one of the best Sony Ericsson XPERIA Neo accessories for those who like to share their tastes in music.

This Sony Ericsson XPERIA Neo case is a hard pouch case, so is designed to protect the Neo form bumps and scrapes; whilst housing the handset safely inside.

With a soft velvet interior lining to comfort the screen of the Neo and an outer vinyl scuba material which absorbs shocks, you know your Neo will be safe inside this Sony Ericsson XPERIA Neo cover.

Another clever feature of the pouch is that it houses a handy pull tab making removal of your Neo from the pouch simple and easy through the opening at the top.  When the handset is in the pouch, the flap doubles up as extra protection for your handset.  However, using a pouch does mean that you’ll need to remove your Neo before using some of the features and ports.

Sony Ericsson are invading the Android market with their range of XPERIA phones, all of which have that special little feature:  the XPERIA Play was the first handset with Playstation software; the XPERIA Arc was super slim; the XPERIA Neo is all about entertainment and Sony Ericsson’s newest release the XPERIA Ray focuses on Facebook and shooting top quality images.

The SIM Free Sony Ericsson XPERIA Ray has all the style of the XPERIA Arc, with its 9.4mm aluminium frame and crisp 3.3” reality display, complete with a Mobile BRAVIA Engine.  This means that not only does the handset ooze style but it also packs a punch with its features and software.

One of the most user friendly features of the unlocked Sony Ericsson XPERIA Ray is its complete integration with Facebook.  The handset directly uploads Facebook albums into your phone’s gallery making viewing pictures and commenting on them simple and easy.  It also synchronises your Facebook calendar with the one on your handset, meaning you’ll never miss an event or a birthday.

However, where the Sony Ericsson XPERIA Play unlocked really shines is in its images and video capabilities.  The handset houses an 8MP camera which uses Sony’s famous Exmor R for Mobile CMOS sensor which helps to increase the quality of images, regardless of the conditions they’re taken in.  The handset also uses geo-tagging, facial recognition and supports HD video recording, just to name a few of the features available to help improve your images.
