The next Galaxy will unveiled on February 21st, one day before the Mobile World Congress kicks off in Barcelona, and will launch worldwide (including in the UK) on March 11th. Thanks to VentureBeat, we have a pretty good idea of what to expect from the announcement.

The publication released a series of photos over the past few days, showing the Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge in official press shots, alongside detailed descriptions of the phone’s specs and capabilities. Let’s take a look at what’s been released thus far.

First up is this shot of the two phones together, showing a design that’s similar to the Galaxy S6 and S6 Edge but with a few important differences. The first is size — while the Galaxy S7 keeps a 5.1-inch 1440p screen, the Edge variant moves to a larger 5.5-inch display. Next is durability: the phones should include IP67 dust and water resistance.

Inside, there will be larger batteries: 3000mAh for the S7 and 3600mAh for the S7 Edge (450mAh and 1000mAh larger than their predecessors, respectively). These will power the Exynos 8890 or Snapdragon 820 processors inside; different chipsets will be available in different regions. This is backed with 4GB of RAM and 32 or 64GB of space; a micro SD card slot should also be included for expandable storage.

The phones’ cameras are also interesting, moving from a 16MP sensor on the Galaxy S6 to a 12MP sensor on the S7. That means performance in the best light could be a little worse, but the f/1.7 lens aperture should assure better low-light performance and the lens will be flush with the back of the phone — no hump.

So there we have it — pretty much everything you could know about the Samsung Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge. They look like solid upgrades over the S6 and its brethren; what do you think? Let us know in the comments below!
