Not bad

The Blackberry Bluetooth Audio Gateway arrived very quickly, although I was disappointed to discover that it requires connection to mains power, something I hadn't noticed in the product description. The mains cable is not included (and is the old variety mini-USB, rather than the micro-USB my current blackberry takes. Setup was easy, and the sound quality is very good so overall i'm pleased. However, the connection does not work from more than about 10 feet away from the unit which is substantially less than I expected, especially as this is without any interfering objects inbetween.

Description

The BlackBerry Bluetooth Stereo Audio Gateway is designed to enable you to wirelessly transmit music from your BlackBerry device to your home or portable stereo. The BlackBerry Bluetooth Stereo Audio Gateway does not use a battery, it is powered by the charger provided with your BlackBerry phone or our Genuine BlackBerry World Travel Charger.

The BlackBerry Bluetooth Stereo Audio Gateway wirelessly connects to your A2DP Bluetooth enabled phone, PC or MP3 player and streams music to your home entertainment system, car stereo, or external speakers via a 3.5mm jack. The unit even allows use of a Bluetooth wireless headset. After you pair your BlackBerry Bluetooth Stereo Audio Gateway with your BlackBerry device, you can connect to the gateway when it is within range of your BlackBerry device (a typical range is approximately 10 meters).

NB: To function as a Bluetooth Gateway, phones and music players must be stereo Bluetooth (A2DP) enabled via an A2DP profile (or A2DP adapter).
