SIM reader/writer not Mac OS compatible
There is no Mac OS driver for the SIM reader/writer on the CD. The product is unbranded so it's impossible to check the internet for a driver.

A good memory card reader, not so good for SIMs
As a multi-function memory card reader this device is excellent and versatile, coping with all the different types of flash memory I have. I'm not sure that it can cope with the new HC SD cards, though. A mini USB socket would have been better than the short captive lead, in my opinion.
I bought this reader primarily for its SIM card reading/writing capabilities, however. While it works (after a fashion), using the rather clunky supplied Windows software it has one major flaw which rendered it less than useful to me. I wanted to copy contact details between SIM cards but found that it has a limitation of 11 characters when writing to a SIM, and that this limit applies even when the SIM card itself can handle more characters per name - mine typically coping with up to 14 characters. I found I could copy the contents of one SIM to my PC but when I tried to copy back to another SIM none of the contact entries with more than 11 characters were copied so I ended up doing it manually on the phone keypad as I've always done before. Verdict: decent hardware, disappointing software.

Very good value
Excellent value for money - especially with USB 2.0 transfer speeds.
Plugged into my WinXP machine and worked first time - I was transferring files 30 seconds after plugging it in.
It loses a star purely based on the very short USB cable that comes bundled with it!
