Route 66 Mobile 7 - Britain Bluetooth GPS Kit (Series 60)

absolutely fantastic piece of kit, turn by navigation, updates with traffic info, would give 5 stars but maps are mid 06 with no sign of updted maps, i use on a nokia e65 and nokia maps have maps up to date, but yo have to pay for voice navigation. well worth the money.

tried to install on my new n95 and it just wont install. tried every permiation of formatting, uninstalling, placing on an existing phone formatted disk, and no joy whatsoever. Seems to be useless as far as i can see!

Not sure why people have had problems installing on an E61. I didn't even have to use the supplied memory card - all the stuff you need is on the CD. Run the CD, or run setup if it doesn't autorun, and it will copy the files needed to a memory card of your choosing. In this case a miniSD card. True it formats the card and so don't do this with an existing card but I was using a new card given that this is the first time I've used miniSD cards. When done put the memory card in the E61 and it will autoinstall. The GPS is charged enough to use it without charging if you are impatient. You have to do the pairing exercise on the GPS first but once found then startup Route 66 and it finds the GPS and off you go. I have used it in a car and I have a bluetooth car kit and so I get all my Route 66 instructions loudly coming out of the car kit. All by default. For £50 excellent VFM.

i had loads of problems trying to get this to work on my n95, when i finally did it didnt seem worth it! the cursor keeps moving away from your position so it then stops the voice navigation, its really slow, kept telling me to turn after id gone past the road! also kept telling me to turn when there was no road, it couldnt find the road i was on for about 10 mins during navigation, (i dont no how it managed to do that?!) and it took about 5 mins to recalculate a route. overall i wud not trust this if i was going anywhere i didnt no, it will get u there eventually but not a very good route!

My first order through MobileFun, and they delivered on time, when they said they would. Definatly will buy from here again. This is an excellent piece of kit for the price. Wanted a cheap sat nav, and this is the cheapest you'll get. OK, the screen size is not huge (due to the phone itself) but who is looking at the screen whilst driving. The only snag I have is that GPS Reciever does not come with a mains charger - does have an in-car charger though. You can get a cigeratte lighter converter. So no big deal there. Brilliant kit.

Works great on my Nokia E61. Terrific value. It wasn't straightforward to install on the E61 though. This is what I did to install it: 1) Copy the files on the MMC card to my PC 2) Insert a new mini SD card in phone 3) Format the card and name it 'ROUTE66' 4) Create a folder on the card called 'Route66' 5) Copy files from PC to folder 6) None of the .sis files on the MMC card would install on the E61. I had to download this file: http://www.66.com/route66/images/website/updates/mobile7/Mobile7.3.520.sa.sis It then installed without problem. I'm not sure if you need to rename your memory card to 'ROUTE66' but I tried it first of all with another name and it couldn't find the resource files. When I renamed the card it worked fine. Also I don't know if it's necessary to format the card (possibly not). I've tested it around my local area and it works great so far. Better than I expected for the price. I've just knocked off a star for the complicated installation procedure.

got the whole kit for under 50 quid sent an sms to register and had it working in under 5 mins,this has never let us down,voice is loud enough and maps are good too,superb value.

Good value no frills mobile GPS system, once I'd copied the mapping from RS MMC to Micro SD using (supplied) card reader and registered the unit via SMS it worked a treat on my Nokia E50. For under £50 for all this kit you can't go wrong, found it better than my TOMTOM mobile 5 but obviously not as good as a stand alone unit.

At this price, with bluetooth GPS + incar charger, 54 way USB card reader, software on CD and MMC, and lanyard, its got to be 5 Stars. On Nokia N80 I had to copy MMC to MiniSD and apply update from Route66 website to get application to load. Works a treat. Not the best, but hey £50 !
