This is my third Otterbox Commuter case for a Galaxy (S3/S4/S5). It was a natural choice, since I was previously very happy with the design, quality and protection (though the price is a bit steep). The outer plastic shell of this version, however, seems thinner and less rigid. The slot for the charger is over large. There is also no silicon cover on the Otterbox for this slot (presumably because the S5 already has a fiddly little cover incorporated to achieve its dust/water protection claims). I am concerned that the piece of connecting plastic running across the front of this slot is pretty thin, and may eventually break.
So, especially given its premium price, it's three stars because Otterbox has fallen from the previous pedestal on which I placed it.

Otterbox Commuter case is a perfect fit, all buttons work smoothly and feels a good quality product that should take knocks and bumps, also comes with screen protector that I haven't used as I am terrible at fitting these, but a nice touch any way. All in all I can highly recommend this product.

I had used a Commuter case on my Motorola Atrix so wanted the same protection for my new Samsung GS5.
The GS5 case is an improvement on the Atrix case because the outer plastic shell better supports the inner rubber case, particularly at top and bottom.
The case fits perfectly with accurate openings where required. There is a rubber protective flap for the earphone hole. The volume and on/off switch work perfectly.
The look and feel of the Commuter case is excellent.
To me the phone feels better, in hand, with the Commuter case on than it does bare.
