Sony Xperia Z1 Compact
Not a bad case/cover but not as good as the similar Flexishield...
I originally purchased this case as a direct replacement for the Flexishield case as I was somewhat concerned about the amount of pressure that case puts on both the power/standby and volume buttons down the right and side, and the lack of response when attempting to press the buttons through the case. The CruzerLite/Android logo on the back of the case is a nice touch, that individualises the case, and helps with grip when holding the phone and/or putting it on a smooth surface. The material the CruzerLite case is made of is also somewhat stiffer than that used on the FlexiShield case which may make it better able to resist damage if dropped, but as I will point out in a moment, this stiffness can be as much of a hindrance as it is a help. As for the negatives, as stated above, the case is made out of pretty stiff rubberised plastic compound, which makes actually getting it on and off the phone somewhat difficult. The front of the case has a more pronounced lip around the edge of the screen than the Flexishield that may cause interference with some types of screen protector, especially those of the tempered glass variety, like I use. The cut-outs the case possesses are bigger than those on the FlexiShield. It's not a massive difference, but is noticeable. So while it makes accessing the waterproof flaps on the phone easier, it also leaves more of the chassis of the phone exposed to potential damage. Finally, while the case fits the phone more tightly than the flexishield, it's overall 'fit' is not quite as good. The bigger cut-outs on the sides cause the sides on the screen to 'bow out' slightly, especially on the left-hand side. The fit of the FlexiShield is just better overall. It somewhat comes down to personal preference with this case. If you like the cool looking design on the back, and need access to the port cut-outs regularly, then get this case, if you want the best amount of protection, with optimum fit, but don't open the flaps on the phone or use the ports so much, and preferred the solid glass-style screen protectors then go with the FlexiShield.
