Fantastic bit of kit
It is brilliant to be able to watch a film that is on you phone or listen to music and whilst it is playing you can carry on using your phone without interrupting the signal from current streaming material.
If you are looking for the right bit of kit at the right price i would thoroughly recommend this and you will not be disappointed.
Great product, UK plug no good for AU.
Great service, product arrived fairly fast, they emailed to say no stock & delayed but still came soon enough. Htc shows this as super easy to use. It is, but I found it put the HTC ONE into a dock mode and not everything clones to TV. Some downloaded Videos don't play SOUND at all on the TV, on the phone it's OK. May be due to copyright issues? they all work OK on the HDMI corded adapter,( it clones the display completely). Just be aware that it does little more than the HTC Video shows. Its NOT a clone of the PHONE DISPLAY.

Yes it does
"I phoned HTC only to be told that it will stream if you've purchased the film but not if it's rented!!!"
No you didn't
"so are they saying that they've screwed it up and can't protect a rented film?"
Nope it works, You can play games / take a call / surf the web on phone while watching too, neat eh?
"Nowhere in the documentation, sales site or HTC site does it place this restriction on the use of the device"
Because it works with watch rentals
"if you are thinking of buying this to watch HTC Watch rented movies, forget it - IT WILL NOT WORK FOR THIS"
Yeah it does
Works with Watch rentals. DOES NOT WORK WITH GOOGLE PLAY RENTALS OR CRACKLE & SUCKS FOR GAMES.
Basically anything that plays in the native HTC player (i.e. select movie from HTC Gallery or HTC watch) will play fine. Other players are hit and miss.
Maybe there was a firmware update? Last user try updating your firmware perhaps?
WARNING! Product will NOT stream HTC Watch rented movies!
I can play all other media, mirror the display, for which it's fine but it just would not stream a rented film.
I phoned HTC only to be told that it will stream if you've purchased the film but not if it's rented!!! Utter balls.
If I wanted to do that, i'd buy the DVD proper and rip it and watch it rights free on any device I own, not take up fixed space on the phone or have to keep downloading it over and over. I thought the whole point of HDMI was to preserve the DRM so are they saying that they've screwed it up and can't protect a rented film?
Nowhere in the documentation, sales site or HTC site does it place this restriction on the use of the device.
I quite like the HTC watch film library, particulary the 5p weekend specials but this ridiculous undocumented limitation is a major step back as I had hoped to avoid using the MHI cable.
The service from MobileFun was as excellent as ever but if you are thinking of buying this to watch HTC Watch rented movies, forget it - IT WILL NOT WORK FOR THIS.
