iDock
Great potential - pity it's passive
Looking for a desktop charger cum holder stand for a phone with charger port and 3.5mm headphone jack? This could be the solution for you.
The iDock has a 3.5mm plug that extends from its base and connects to your phone's headphone jack, giving the user a "landline" handset through which to answer incoming calls.
The regular charger cord is connected to the phone's charger port; e.g micro USB. Unlike some stands the iDock does not appear to allow simultaneous charging and data transfer by cable unless your phone has separate ports for these disparate purposes.
With the phone connected via the headphone jack, the iDock also claims to play ringtones & music from your phone through a speaker in the base of the dock. Sadly this feature is barely functional in connection with the Samsung Chat phone I am using - (iDock volume is too low.) This is possibly the result of an impedance problem with a specific phone model, but the iDock is only a passive device and lacks any form of independent volume control. The vendor claims that s/he hasn't heard of this drawback with other phone models.
I use the phone in question more as a household extension than a constant mobile companion. The iDock suits this role admirably.
Even without the loudspeaker feature, the iDock is an attractive addition to most desktops, holds the phone neatly in place, and keeps it fully charged. This is a tidy alternative for the many phone models for which no partnered charger stand is produced.

Nearly there....
It does what is says and works as a charger and a phone handset. But it just didn't do it as well as I expected. The i-phone does not sit snugly as they are trying to appeal to all handsets. You need your own charger cable and again when the cable pluggeed in not a good fit. As it is called idock, you would think it would at least fit the i-phone. But for the price it does a job. Trying to please everyone and misses!.

Not really suitable and not a good fit
This is just a desk stand and works as a 'handsfree' handset. You therefore need to plug into the earphone socket which, on an iPhone, is at the top. Therefore it looks odd.
Plus to power and interface the device you have to use the original USB cable. When this is inserted and then connect to the phone, it doesn't sit nicely in the slot. You can see the cable connection and it's not a proper docking station.
If it did what it implies then it wouldn't be a problem.
