Poor Product for the price
I bought this product as a way of expanding my battery life and save on recharges. This has not worked out as I find I am both charging the new unit as well as my phone and I am not a heavy user. The product is being sent back as it has now developed a fault when it will not charge my phone and keeps beeping.
In short I find this product very expensive for the results I am getting. I will be buying a bigger battery instead.

life too short to miss out on your friends update
As with most smart phones.more function means more use and that inturn requires more power from battery.so when my galaxy s2 started to use more battery when catching up on my friends social web sites i needed to address the power problem the battery pack did that.it lasts a solid three days before going into the yellow.so those days mean i can always have the phone with me without searching for the nearest plug socket.moderetly expensive but well sorted as for as design and function goes.you wont do urself an injustice by buying it.but you would if you miss an important messeage from your friend when ur battery dies without it.

It is ok
If you keep it separately charged, then, it is great. Otherwise, it is useless as the phone turns on in the middle of the night and tells you it is fully charged, thus depleting the battery.

Annoying beeping
I like the case and dont mind that is doubles the size of the phone. It fits well and should provide a bit of protecting to the sides, top and bottom.
My added hope with this case was that it would isolate the wifi signal problem caused by your hand getting too close to the antenna on the left hand side. sadly no, this is a design flaw in the phone.
the bad bit about this battery pack is that it is really a charger for your phone. you draw power from the pack, which means that it WILL keep you up all night as it beeps to say it is charging your phone. This is most irritating. you will end up taking the cover off, if you want to sleep/ avoid the irritating beeping.
This is a serious design flaw. It does make me wonder if I should have just gone for a much cheaper high capacity battery (built in), with extended cheap back.Doing this however may have meant that it is difficult to get a cover to fit.
On the whole I like it, if samsung could just stop the infernal beeping.

Works well
I have not had the same experience as Alanicus wrote in his review below. In fact, the battery case worked much like I expected. Having fully charged the phone and the case separately, I then put the two together. I did initially get get the 'fully charged' warning after a few minutes, but after dispelling it, it did not return. The phone then ran showing 100% battery for approximately 7hrs 20mins (light use) before starting to use the S2's internal battery.
If anyone's looking for a holster or pouch, the dimensions of the case are: 136 x 70 x 14 (that's me with a ruler)
It's a shame Samsung didn't integrate a kickstand to the case, but other than that, it does what it's supposed to.
Notes:
- a lot more comfortable to hold in the case
- gives you somewhere to put your thumb when holding horizontally to watch a movie without accidentally touching the softkeys

extra power
Good design fits perfectly to phone, increases weight but not too much weight. I bought it mainly to extend life of phone when using gps. Still to test gps life , but I would guess adds at least 50% more life but not 100% as I have seen mentioned by some.

Great idea.. poorly executed
I have to agree wholeheartedly with Alanicus review below. I thought it would work as well as my old iPhone Mophie Juice pack. In fact, without an on/off switch, all it does is go into an endless loop of charging the battery to full, then turning the display on and beeping at me to tell me that the device is fully charged, which in turn drains the battery enough to start the charging process again. In the end, results in the battery draining almost as quickly with the battery pack attached as it does without it!
Sent mine back for a full refund and bought a higher capacity replacement battery, which I'm very pleased with. Not the most aesthetically pleasing, but at least it works!

Thoughtful solution but lack design practicality
2B honest, among all the current reviews I read through, only one I can agree on which is Alanicus. I would like to have this as a backup provided it truly meets the user-friendly handling when it is in service. Given the drawbacks some had already confirmed, coupled with the price tag, it would render my croc-leather jacket sleeve from Piel Frama completely useless. I'll stick to its easy dependence on both my vehicle and home desktop docks, worth having them instead.

Too Expensive...
The better option is to purchase additional Genuine Samsung Replacement Batteries. you could buy 4 of them for £48 (giving over 4 days use without charging) and use the additional £7 to buy a protective case. This option will not get you 4 days of heavy use away from a power source for charging.

Emmmmmmm
At first I thought the extended battery power pack was broken, it takes for ever to charge, unlike my one for my old Iphone
You cant charge it on the phone , has to be removed, which l find a bind
but it fits snug to the phone
and makes phone a bit heaver which l find better coz phones to light for me. lf it didnt take so long to charge and you could charge it on phone, l would say great bit of kit, but for the price emmmmmmm maybe the next ones will be better.

Not a good buy
Save your pennies. Although his looks quite good and doesn't add too much bulk to the phone, it is actually a very poor device. This is because it doesn't add very much power to the phone at all. While charging it gets very hot and is uncomfortable to hold and keep in a pocket. Worst of all when the jacket is fully charged you cannot turn it off, so it keeps charging the phone which then beeps at you and warns that the phone is fully charged, with the only option then being to remove the jacket. I would have expected more from a Samsung branded accessory at this premium price.

A must-have accessory for any Galaxy S2 power user
As any of you who own a galaxy s2 know, the battery life is far from stellar. For all its power and versatility, the phone is one massive energy sucker and in most instances, it will deplete a battery in less than a day. This extended battery power pack case is made by samsung so it's high-quality and seems to be made tough enough to protect your phone in the event of dropping it. Most importantly though, besides protecting your phone as an external jacket, it will dramatically increase its battery life so you can use it with normal to frequent data access for well over a day. Considering it packs a powerful battery, it is still made to look fairly slim and while it adds bulk to your phone, it does distributes that quite evenly across the entire surface of the back so that the whole thing does not turn into a brick. The battery pack charges automatically soon as your phone finishes charging and you do not need to take it out for no other reason than to change sim and sd cards. *** beware! if you are lucky enough to have nfc in your samsung galaxy s2, this will stop working when you install the pack. Samsung states that clearly in the instructions ***.

Excellent extended battery case
It's not cheap, but it's an excellent extended battery case for the galaxy s2. It fits smoothly round the phone and though it adds a little to both the weight and dimensions the phone is such a featherweight itself that's not a big problem. It gives useful extra battery life to a phone that's already pretty good in that respect.
