Universal Phone Vent Holder
You get what you pay for! This is simple device that attaches to the car vents. It pretty much does what is says on the can. After several weeks use it seems robust enough and the locking mechanism is OK. It relies on gravity and the spread legs to remain in place. The claws gripping the phone work fine. Once mounted the device allows easy operation of the phone. VFM at the price.

Not as impressed as I hoped I would be. It works but isnt as secure as I would like. Easily knocked off line. The clamp arms are too steeply angled and even my galaxy doesnt sit right into the clamps. Just about does the job

Does what I wanted at a modest price
This Universal Phone Vent Holder was easy to fit to my Vauxhall Vectra. It keeps the phone secure and was just what I was looking for. The only negative is I have bashed against it a few times when using the direction indicators, but that's probably me being a bit clumsy!
Would recommend.

it was very tricky to attach the mount to my cars fans, my car has exactly the same fans as in the pictures so thought it would be a good buy. the adjustable legs slide around on the surface a lot if the fans are moved. the product is pretty good although does get in the way of a few of the buttons in my car.

So far perfect
Bought this item for my Nokia N8 to use with maps in Citroen Picasso.
Fits neatly on air vent.
Clamps phone well, even my large heavy Nokia.
Have just started using it so cannot comment on longevity.
Downsides so far are that the clamp obscures charging point, so would be difficult to clamp and charge at the same time in the car.
Also there are no instructions at all.
Apart from this it seems to be just what I want.

Universal Phone Vent Holder.
Does what it says on the box
I had been looking for 6 weeks for a phone holder for my new car most of them cheap looking and either needed screwing or wirth stupid sticky pads. I saw the video for this and thought i would give it a go and to my suprise it is a very good piece of kit easy to fit on the vents ( either verticle or horizontal )holds my HTC phone or my IPOD Touch plus the bonus of a very good price and the delivery was next day even better. I would say if you are looking for a phone holder for your car vent this is the one.

Universal Phone Vent Holder
Excellent product but not Universal
This phone holder was perfect for my Galaxy Samsung Ace phone and I could even use it with it's silicon cover. However, I bought it for my Ford Focus and the hook was too wide to fit through the vents. My husband now uses it in his Volkswagon Golf!

i couldn't quite fit it on the outside ones but when its on the inside i can charge my phone as well and see the screen if i am using the sat nav!

Best legal way to have mobile in car
Since I purchased my iphone3GS I spent quite some time looking the best device to hold my mobile legally and securely in my car. This does it. Because the cradle can hold it in landscape form, it allows me to use the mobile as a satnav.

Not quite "universal", ok for phones that don't try to be a tablet!
Seems like it would do the job for smaller phones but using the Galaxy Note with the official Book/flip-style protective case means I have to force the phone into place. Also when getting it out, it grips the phone so tightly (this is on the holder's widest setting)that the case unclips and I have to pop it back on.
When the more substantial case I've ordered finally arrives, I'll only be able to use this holder by taking it out of the case first.
It's also a bit wobbly on my Ford Focus Estate (51-reg) and Ford Focus C-MAX (53-reg) but usable once in place.

Fantastic mobile phone holder
I bought this phone holder for my iPhone 4 so that i could view my phone easily whilst driving & use the sat nav app. This phone holder exceeded my expectations. It sits well on my air vent (VW Golf) and holds my iPhone well in its case. The design of the holder also means I can put my phone on charge whilst driving and if I want to turn my phone landscape for sat nav purposes, I can. I'm over the moon with this product, so if your looking for a phone holder to hold your iPhone in its case, then look no further. I highly recommend this product.

Does what it says
Im pleased I bought this vent holder as it does exactly what I wanted, it hold in place my nokia n8 phone firmly and is easy to adjust from portrait to landscape and as an added bonus it works really well as a holder for my ipod classic which i keep in the car.
The holder itself is well made and of good quality and is the only one Ive found that clips securely into the round vents of my mondeo so overall a good purchase and one Im pleased to own !

Good value, but could be better
This was delivered very fast by Mobilefun, no problems with that. The phone holder itself is ok, but there are two things to consider. The first is that the holder is not especially secure, it tends to flop around a bit because the vent clip is not particularly strong and the feet are slippery - they would have been better if they had a non-slip coating. The second issue is that putting the phone in the holder and removing it again is clumsy and it is difficult to get a secure grip from the holder - for example, I have to remove the phone from the silicon protector case otherwise it isn't held securely by the side grips. Overall for the price it is ok, but I imagine that there are better, more secure units available for not much more money.

Useful bit of kit
This phone holder is really quite versatile.
First impressions were not too favourable as I was struggling to find a place to mount it on the vents without the vents moving and taking the phone and holder with it.
However I found that the spring loaded claw can be rotated to any angle by simply slackening off a screw and putting at the required angle.
The only slight problem encountered was the thickness of the metal of the claw which can be a bit hard to get through the gaps in some air vent grills. However overall a very useful bit of kit which can be removed easily so that there is no evidence of a satnav being used in the car.

Just the job
The phone holder works well, grips the phone securely and easily rotates into portrait or landscape mode.
The power connector is not obstructed (Wildfire S)and the phone is in a good position, easily in sight, much better than up on the screen, which is, strictly speaking illegal.
Fitting is easy. Removal is a bit more tricky but it's one of those things where you just need to learn the trick. Lift it slightly before you (gently) pull and it slides easily off the vent. You'll soon get the hang of it.

Works a charm
I have had problems finding an iphone holder for my Honda Accord, but this fits very well in the right-hand ventilation grill by the side of the steering wheel.

Simple and effective!
I bought the Universal Phone Vent Holder for my Samsung Galaxy Nexus, and it works perfectly. It holds the phone securely, vertically or horizontally, and I can change the angle to face me in the drivers seat. No problems with the weight of the phone, either. For under £10, it seems a pretty ideal solution.

Not ideal for HTC phones
The phone holder itself is well made and is aesthetically pleasing, but unfortunately the clamp mechanism that secures the phone prevents me from plugging in the USB cable to charge it. Will affect phones that have a USB port on the side, particularly the HTC Sensation.

If having trouble fitting to vent FIESTA, MAZDA...
I bought this for my Fiesta (2006) which has the same style vents as those on the Mazda 6, which others have already said don't fit. However, the back of this holder has the same style fitting as many you can buy i.e. the 'stick vent mount holder' (search ebay or see link below). I had one of these already installed on my dash from my old phone (iphone), and simply switched the parts so it's now a hybrid of the two - I find the sticky ones excellent and they don't wobble at all. Now i've got the best of both!

Great little gadget
This is a fantastic value for money product. Although no instructions provided in the box, good old u-tube has it all. Great little video found on how to install. Very versatile little gadget and what's great? If you change your phone, you can still use this - perfect!!!

Top value. 100% recommend.
Excellent value. This was exactly what I wanted - a phone holder for the car which fitted easily into the air vents (I'm not a fan of the suction pads). Very competitive price - I did my research! - arrived promptly and fitted in minutes. Can have phone portrait or landscape depending on preference/use. Recommend this item without hesitation. Does exactly what it says it can. Can't say fairer than that.

Not very strong
Bought this product as the last vent holder was very good but only held 3GS so went for universal one. Sadly the legs that are ment to take the strain from the vent grip are weak and every time I put my phone in holder (gently) they open wider. Holder good idea but not robust enough

As a driver for a living I need my phone to be available and yet not a hindrance. The universal phone holder achieved this 100%

Better than suckered to the windscreen
This is just what I needed as I don't like these things stuck to the windscreen, but really needed my phone in easy reach and view mainly to change track when listening to music and when using the GPS. The holder was quick and easy to fit, feels sturdy and well made with the inclusion of a metal clip and my two phones of differing size fit well within it. My only slight issue after using it for a while now is that I have noticed a small and sometimes annoying vibration coming from it when driving, where plastic meets plastic, but this I can live with. Atleast I know where the noise is coming from, unlike some others in my car! Very glad I got it.

Bought as a gift to replace a cheaper one I borrowed from my girlfriend. More secure than cheaper alternatives, however, it does stand out from the dashboard quite far, so if you're planning on using it on the driver side vent, it may interfere with the windscreen wipers. All in all, a good purchase.

Good product overall
I found this phone holder to be great overall. The adjustment is great, I can angle the phone perfectley with 360 degrees of movement. The only thing I struggled with was fitting the holder to the vent, I have a focus and the vent spacing is tight so it was difficult to get the arm attachtment through and it is very difficult to remove it when not in use.

Reasonable for the money
Although it took a lot of faffing to get it just where I wanted it, it does work. Not as solid as the window-stuck holders but using the vents means that my phone can be closer, enabling me to see it better.

Perfect in every way (almost!)
The trouble with upgrading your phone is that you usually need loads of new kit too, and sometimes this can take the shine off because the bits and bobs let the side down.
Not so with this boy. It was a bit tricky to slide together, but I used a blade to 'shave' the slot bit on the back until it all fitted together (took 5 mins) and apart from that, it is fantastic. Very sturdy and well made, spins round to go from portrait to landscape really well. Importantly, the bit that fits onto the vent is really firm and secure, but also easy to move from one vent to another (for when you're not driving for instance). I've been treating this manoeuvre with respect so as not to snap the vent bar.The whole thing is very secure in the car against occasional knocks
I am really impressed - I honestly didn't think it'd be much cop at this price, but it's fab!

Great price, and a good product. My in-car charger doesn't quite meet perfectly at the bottom end of my HTC sensation, but it squeezes in and works fine.

Very useful car holder
I had originally bought another car holder so that my HTC Desire fitted my '06 Honda Accord, but found that A) it was too bulky when fixed to the windscreen (obscuring the view of the road)and B) the only place I could position it so that it didn't obscure my view was to the right of my steering wheel. This meant the charger lead was too short.
The Universal Phone Vent Holder for the HTC Desire gave me the solution I was after; no obscuring of the view of the road and it was in reach of the charging socket. Result!!
What's more, the Universal Phone Vent Holder is discreet; holds on exceptionally well and will fit the majority of cars.
If you have an HTC Desire and you're after a car holder, I simply say this: you have found it!
Very happy with the goods and the service I received.

vent my frustration
Have tried several in car phone holders for my HTC. Some don't fit the phone with skin on or the windscreen types hold phone miles away.
This one holds phone and within reach to read screen
Has solved my frustrations in finding the right one

Very pleased. I am using it with a htc desire s and have it fitted in my hyundai coupe se. This has round air vents and it fits them ok but the feet don’t sit very flat with the dash, so was a bit worried they may scratch it. Solved this by putting some rubber caps on the feet!.

Bought for HTC Sensation
Very disappointed.
Nothing wrong with the holder per se, it just shouldn't be advertised as suitable for the HTC Sensation without mentioning that you can't charge your phone whilst it's in the holder!
The holder's arm / clamp partially covers the phone's charger socket - given this phone's dismal battery life, it's essential for me to be able to charge it whilst driving.

Great buy!!!
After much searching bought this for my Samsung Galaxy S2, Found the U-bend on the metal hook a bit big for my Mondeo's air vents. Problem solved with a pair of pliers to squeeze it together.This item is fully adjustable and does a very good job. Have already recommended it to my friends.

Great Product, Exceptional Service.
The product presentation on the website, with multiple pictures and a useful video is very good.

Not universal.
Not fit for use. Does not work with vent in Punto'02. Legs too flimsy and do not hold phone in place. Weight of device causes vents to move. Will return.

Don't buy for HTC Sensation
Purchased this and it looked fine. Fitted in the car well and held my HTC Sensation snugly. But when I tried to plug in the car charger (essential for satnav) I found the side arm blocks the mini usb port. Now need to return it.

Just need a bit of care when setting it up
I can see why some reviewers found the item a bit gimmicky, however once it's up it does a great job in keeping my Desire HD (quite a big phone) stable.
Overall it does what it says on the tin, and it does it well, I'm very pleased with it.

Does not work with HTC Sensation
Hi guys, this is a good product but be carefull if you have a HTC Sensation you cant charge and hold it in the cradle as the holding clips on left hand side block mini usb lead from being plugged into phone.
But that said I was impressed with the build and how sturdy the unit was, just not any good for me.

Finally a mobile holder that does what it's suppos
After purchasing an iPhone 3GS, I wanted a car vent holder that securely held it in place. I had no idea how hard this would be. I tried three others before I found this one. They either wouldn't hold the phone in it's shell case, or they wobbled around because the vent clips were too loose. I was getting so frustrated but it was 4th time lucky.
This one holds the phone securely as it has a tightening bolt you use once you have opened the sides to the correct width for your device. The vent clip mechanism is the most secure I have seen and doesn't rely on plastic clips that can distort. Because it is universal it will take my phone even in it's case. It has other features too that I haven't mentioned, but you can find these on the website.
It is well made and I highly recommend it. Great product.

Excellent if you're prepared to modify it...
Very good little phone holder - my Samsung GS2 fits snugly into the cradle and the device clips nicely into the air vent of my Citroen C4. But there was one major problem: the cradle and the main body of the device are supposed to clip together, but the plastic connector on the cradle is too big. So unless like me you have a small file or craft knife to hand to widen the receiving aperture you simply won't be able to use this product. A great product let down by an unfortunate design oversight.

Does the job well
Fits well to the centre vents of my BMW 3 series giving a good viewing angle & keeping the phone cool without snaging any controls. A bit flimsy and delicate to assemble but once in place it held my HTC Sensation firmly. Down-side, at least with the Sensation, is the clamp covers the USB port for charging but this can be worked around by simply sliding the phone up higher in the holder then pushing in the charging plug. Looks a bit ungainly but nevertheless still holds firm.
Good value for money.

Excellent Item
I have looked around for sometime anf tried a couple of other vent mounts for my HTC and this is by far the "Best".
Easy to fit and i have used it in different cars, this item is great and looks good, would reccomend to anyone looking for a vent mounted holder.

Disappointing
My biggest gripe about this is that there is no access to the usb port to charge your phone whilst in the car.
What a silly oversight.
In addition the fixation is inadequate without a lot of fiddling.
I wouldn't get it again.

Ok, not great.
It works and it wasn't expensive so it's not bad. The problem for me is the little pads on the base of the support legs are too slippery and slide too much on the dash when going around a corner.
On the plus side adjustment is excellent and it holds the phone very well.

Fits my Sensation and feels secure. Not a great fit on my 2009 Mondeo's round vents but it at least gets the clip around the vents blades (the product is meat to hold the vent blade in a sprung jaw) and there is plenty of adjustment

Top draw, just the ticket
Not being one for clutter in a car, I have always put off having such holders in a vehicle, this one however is clean, tidy and adaptable it would seem for any vehicle. Simple to install, quick to move from vehicle to vehicle and when the phone is docked in it, solid and very usable. If this were a well known auction site I'd be putting A+++++ now..... ooops I have. Definatly recommend this to people equally as fussy as me.

Great product, just not for my Fiesta.
Well designed and well priced. A little fiddly to fit but very secure once done. Sadly this doesn't work with my '08 onwards Ford Fiesta as there isn't anywhere to put it where the phone doesn't get in the way of the controls on the steering wheel. A real shame as I really like this product. You have to be careful which vents you try and attach it to as well, because the circular ones on the Fiesta are too deep for the hook to properly attach to.

Ideal inexpensive kit that works
I wanted a phone holder that wasn't expensive but still kept the phone secure, ideally not have to take the skin off and be able to charge it from a lead I had already in the car. My only concern was it going to fit the air vent of my Ford Galaxy. It did and also met all my other requirements. So this device gets full marks from me.

Have to say this is a excellent product I did a 8hr round trip to Wales on good roads and across country I found it to be very stable was easy to fit and take off Vauxhall Vectra I would very much recommend this product.

Perfect for Desire S owners!
For anyone who has a Desire S, or a phone with it’s charging point on the sides, look at getting this one.
My existing holder was the windscreen suction cup type, which was OK for my old Desire, but couldn’t charge my Desire S up as it covered the charging point.
Another advantage of this holder is that the Desire S is prone to overheating and re-starting if you are using Google Navigation on a hot day, made worse if you have it in the direct sunlight on your windscreen. Now that is clipped to an air vent it is out of the greenhouse effect, and I can turn the cool blower to keep air wafting over it. It is designed so that most of the weight of your phone is cantilevered onto those bottom legs, not entirely off your flimsy vent grills like some others too.
It took me 2 minutes to fit it (to my 2004 Seat Leon) and for the price I am very pleased at how well it does. Once again Mobilefun setting the bar for delivery times. Was fitting it less than 24 hours after ordering it.

Good bit of kit
Well made bit of kit to secure my HTC desire firmly to the dash of my Mazda 6 (new shape, centre vents not like old shape but of the traditional style) used it for a month now and not looked back. Love the universal positioning, love the easy fit spring system, love the soft feet that dont mark the dashboard, the image shows the unit upside down which may confuse buyers, looks neat too.

- I managed to get this installed quite quickly.
- The vent mount is sturdy and looks like it'll last.
- The support bar goes below the mount and need the screw tightening so it stays as you want. Finding a place for this support bar is the hardest bit.
- It's nice that you can adjust the direction of the holder (change angle and twist for landscape) but the angle is limited.
- The holder sticks out a lot from the vent mount. I would have liked something a little more compact, even if it was less adjustable.
- The holder bit can come off easily - sometimes while pulling your phone out.
- The holder's side clamps aren't very rounded so with my phone (in a skin case) it's either a bit too tight or it's loose enough that the phone can come out of one side and fall out. I've left it tight for obvious reasons which means I have to hold the holder down while I pull the phone out.
- The little legs on the bottom of the holder are nicely positioned so it's easy to attach a charging cable to the bottom of the phone.

Uninversal - But not for my Car!
Product Looked good and read some impressive reports -but upon attempting to fit the product I found it to be not as good as claimed! Watched the video and took my time to fit, but still did not attach to my vent securely, it feel off a few times. Have requested a refund as this product ain't for me (or my car!). Good theory though.

Pros: holds my HTC securely, easily dismountable when not needed, allows charger cable to be plugged in while GPS is in use
Possible cons: gaps in vent may not be big enough to take hook, I had to fiddle around until I found a place where they were; can't adjust angle of phone while driving if it has been locked properly in place. No instructions provided, so had to go back to demonstration video on company's website.
Used it on several journeys already, and it has done the job very well.
It didn't arrive as promised, but company were very good about answering emails and provided a replacement promptly.

great but !
Great holder easy to fit to the vent in my van, very adjustable to get the phone in exactly the right position, even holds my iphone secure with the added thickness of an ijuice battery case fitted. Unfortunately the glue that holds the metal fixing bar into the plastic of the phone holder can't be strong enough and with the extremes of heat in a vehicle left in the sun, the bar releases from the glue and holder and falls off ! thankfully my phone wasn't attached at the time. The holder is so versatile that I didn't want to get rid, and with the use of a small black cable tie, is secure and tightly fitted back to my vent ( only a solution if you don't mind your holder permanently attached )
i rate the holder , shame about the fixing to the vent.

Good fit for experia x10 Mini pro
Was after something for very occasional sat nav use, and due to the curved back the sticky options were out. This holds the x10 mp very well and is fairly adjustable. Fits solidly to the dash and even with a few dodgy roads I had no concerns about the phone falling off. Gaps in the enclosure allow plenty of room for a charger cable too. On the negative, some of the parts are a little flimsy and fragile. However as long as you're careful and not using it everyday it should last you.

Not bad - in fact quite good!
Although it doesn't have the sleeker looks of others I have used it is easy to adjust, easy to fit and pretty stable. One useful aspect is that it holds the phone well away from the facia so that you can still get to buttons etc which are near the holder. I will probably keep this one and currently not looking for anything better which has happened with its predecessors!

A bit loose
Unfortunately this doesn't fit my vents very well (celica gt4). So it feels loose and moves around. The bottom legs also don't really have anywhere to support them on my car. Not a fault of the product but a gamble you take I suppose. Having said that I took the holder and paired it with another vent grip and it worked much better!.

Poor quality - does not work
Not suitable for the circular air vents in my Mazda 6. The locking clips do not reach to the back of the vent vanes son cannot be fixed in place. Whilst trying to secure it I broke off one of the adjustable padded arms. Cheap plastic! Broken in 30mins! Not very impressive!
Phone fits but cannot satisfactorily fit it to a vent.
Perhaps I should have ordered the ‘S Type’ instead although I double whether the clip on that will reach the back of the vanes to hold it in place.

Good quality product
I bought this item after searching high & low for an air vent holder. The product is of good quality & holds my ipod perfectly in place without any worry of it slipping out. The only concern i had was it was a bit fiddly to fix to the vent but eventually i got it done & all's well.

Works very well
I don't use this for a phone but for my Pure Highway DAB as the supplied mount broke, it grips the unit eniugh so that it doesn't fall out but it depresses the station buttons so using a rubber band to combat this keeps it in place, and for some reason the reception for the DAB has improved by 100%, go figure!

Does the job. But the 2 we had both had the same
The hook bar came out of the main body almost immediatly after fitting.
These 2 were obviously not bonded in correctly.Super glue fixed it OK.
The one fitted to a Yaris was difficult due to the louvres in the vents being very thick so the hook and spring clip do not hold as well as they should.

Best holder for the money!
I'm using this holder for a month now and I cannot find any fault!
It fits perfectly my Vectra air vent and locks in securely. I drive a lot in town over bumps but never had worried that the holder or phone will fall.
You do need to set it up first but is dead simple: use a small philips screwdriver to adjust and tighten the metal clip that hooks inside the vent so it can fit horizontal or vertical vents and lock the two leg prongs in a position thats suitable for your dashboard. Thats all!
I suspect, all those unhappy with this holder don't know to use a screwdriver! and thats worrying when they use cars!
Make sure you use the little lever at the back to lock the phone in and it will NOT come off. I leave mine in locked position and slide the phone (Wildfire) in and out.
The only problem -minor- I had was pluginin the car charger as the bracket that holds the phone is ending just about above the usb socket on my Wildfire making for a tight fit, but a little bit of triming the rubber on the charger usb plug sort it out.
Maibe is not the prettiest holder around but does a good job.
And specialy important in summer: because it leaves some space between the vent and phone the air conditioning is still coming through witch was a blessing with the recent hot weather.
All in all a great buy.

Good But room for improvement
A small boss broke within a week of useing, But a small modification with epoxy adhesive doing away with the small screw and all was well. If you don't pay a lot don't expect too much. am well pleased for the ammount I paid,and If you are capable of useing epoxy adhesive well recomended ps I have a HTC Desire HD a heavy phone.

Bought this airvent phone holder open box and plastic bag tried to fit to my LandRover Freelander fitted to vent first bump I wnet over holder sprang free and fell aprt internal spring flew acroos the car, total waste of money and rubbish component now trying to return for refund do not buy this

This is very fiddly to fit and as some reviewers have said, is very loose. Nevertheless, once fitted i was quite happy. However, after a couple of weeks, the mechanism failed sending my phone flying with bits of plastic and a spring. Cheap and nasty!

Does what it says well
Needed a new holder to go with a new E7- 4 inch screen so a big phone It hols the E7 comfortably with adjustment to spare.
It aint pretty - no holders are but it can be securely attached and detached from the vent in seconds so you can remove it when not needed.
Good value and usual efficient MF delivery.

The holder is ok, not great. Because the vent it holds onto swivels up and down this means that the phone can bounce around quite easily. The metal bracket fell out quite often and I had to glue it in. In fact after only a couple of weeks use we haven't even bothered to refit it after gluing. So to sum up, yes it does what it is supposed to do but not brilliantly. This is in comparison to a genuine Nokia holder for the previous phone which held the phone so well.

First one received broke on installation with spring loaded arm disappearing into vent never to be seen again. Holder was replaced without a problem. When mounted to left of driving position it felt insecure as I often knocked it indicating, gear changed etc. I have now mounted it in small vent to right with satisfactory results

Neat and functional
This is the first time I have had a vent mounted holder and I wish I had got one sooner. Suction pad mounts always fall off sooner or later, but this one fills me with confidence that my phone won't end up in the footwell at the worst possible moment. It's very neat and unobtrusive and easily swivels between portrait and landscape. A good buy.

Prompt delivery.Easy to set up from photos (needed to trim excess plastic from grooves to slide phone holder to main mount). It would be an excellent piece of kit, especially for the money, but it doesn't quite fit the circular vents for my Qashqai.

Not as easy to position as I thought it would be..
The clasp that holds the phone is good, can move in and out as described. The clip that goes into the vent is OK but the 2 'prongs' that scissor out to make it perch up got very loose very quickly and needed tightening up a couple of times as I worked to try to find the best place for it. These prongs are needed to stop the weight of the phone closing the vent.
OK but not great.

OK but a bit quirky
I had to tighten mine up with a screwdriver. The small brackets at the bottom were too loose and it kept dropping.
On my Audi A3 03 (96-03 range) the clip for the air vents does mean it sticks out quite a lot.
Does what it's meant to though and not bad for the price.
Giving it a 3, it did what it was meant to.

Car vent mount
I bought this holder for my 2004 1.8 Astra.
However, this item came without any instructions, so I eventually used the photos on box to attempt to fit it.
The spring loaded bracket is far too long for a secure fit, and the two prongs just sit loose on the fascia's surface.
Result the phone simply wobbles about. A total waste of money!

Extremely Impressed
For £9.99 I was dubious as to whether this would be worthwhile, but I am pleased to say that it is a very well designed piece of kit.
It clips on to the back of your vents and is then held in place with a spring mounted wedge and has two leg prongs for stabilising. I have horizontal vents and it works perfectly well with those.
Holds my HTC Desire in its protective surround without any problems, easy access for the charger and no bouncing around on journeys. £9.99 very well spent!

Good but maybe unlucky?
Great product concept but after a week the thread on a screw failed so the support arms freely rotate. Product is still usable but is now more vertical than it would otherwise be. I really need to get a new screw to fix it! Very secure and easy fitting to vent. Would have been 5 stars without screw problem.

One of the best bits of kit I have purchased of late. Does exactly what it says and you can fit it any way up or even sideways. One of the best holders for my pda/sat nav - does not vibrate and positions it just at the right height for viewing safely whilst driving.

Robust and flexible
Was looking for vent mounted holder since I was fed up with myh windscreen mounted falling off in the cold weather (and its creaking). Found this to be a great solution, robust with flexible positioning. Easy to slide phone (HD2) into the holder although you do need 2 hands to remove it since the rubber grips the phone nicely and it isn't fixed down in any way apart from the vent attachment.

I purchased this mobile phone holder after reading good reviews from other customers.I was rather dissapointed when i installed the holder in my Nissan Navara truck, the holder moves around on the air vent, the two supporting arms which are to keep the holder in place do not sit very well on the fascia and allow the cradle to move from left to right towards the indicator switch making it hard to indicate, the knuckle joint which holds the cradle is too flexible and it allows the phone cradle to drop down and swivel perhaps with the weight of my iphone 4.
Previously i have had two cheap phone holders from Tesco which worked very well but unfortunately the cradle will not hold the Iphone4 due to the case width.

The holding arms and locking mechanism on this is badly designed flimsy and not easy to unclip, the back fits great on air vents i ended up swapping the phone holder with a much better one

Best holder by far!
Have tried quite a few holders for my HTC Touch HD. None really offerd a secure fit or would break after a week.
I need one that fits to the vent as I don't want to fix anything to the dash in my company car. So tried this one.
This one looks almost over engineered. It attaches to the vent but has a support that rests against the dashboard making it very secure. The side arms also adjust to suit pretty big smartphones, another positive as I'm changing to a Desire HD soon.
Brilliant piece of design and at this price an utter bargain!

After reading the reviews I decided to buy this instead of forking out the extra amount needed for the official car mount as its come across as being a fairly reliable dock. But in my opinion after having it for around a month I think its useless it feels cheap it doesnt hold well to the vents and even when it has been locked in place the phone on a couple of occassions has fallen out if mounted horizontally. If I was you to save yourself the annoyances I have had with it buy the official dock.

The sides to this holder cover the micro usb charge port. Otherwise holds it securely and looks fairly easy to install into my Suzuki, though it did not come with any instructions. Didn't actually attempt it once I realised that it was inappropriate for my Desire Z.

Not bad, but requires some fiddling...
If you have a car which happens to have round vents, rather than the square or rectangular ones in most cars, this may not be for you... the mechanism that clamps the holder to the vent is very good, however the rotating nature of my vent means that a bit of fiddling is required to get a stable position. However, once in place it is very stable and a very good piece of kit.

Great phone holder at a great price. Bought this in the recent sale for my HTC Desire and it holds the phone nice a firmly and the fold out feet keep it quite stable over the bumpiest of roads.

Easy to fit and remove to vent
Simple to change from car to car, but won't fit the Citroen Berlingo van at work, good job I use the Ford.
The lock for the phone holder is a bit fiddly but overall I'm pleased with the item

Very loose and Wobbly when installed
It's difficult to summarise without sounding vindictive. This holder promised so much and consistently failed to deliver. When installed, upon removing your phone it lifts away from the dash. The supporting legs move and spread when you put a phone into it. The phone holder grips aren't deep enough for thiscker phones. Overall I was disppointed enough to throw both mine and my wife's in the bin.

Good universal holder but it won't fit all cars
I bought this holder in place of a screen mount so my phone cannot be seen by other people.
Only one problem is that it cannot fit any vents which have a curved front. I have a Chevrolet Matiz and the vents are quite deep so I have had to make a fasterner myself (kind of defeats the object of being universal).

Didn't work out for me :-(
Overall a good concept but unfortunately the plastic locking mechanism that keeps the holder in place over the vent broke the 2nd time I tried to install it in my car. Is a shame because the rest of the product certainly seems fairly robust. Will be returning to Mobilefun and continuing my search for a decent in-car holder for my HTC Desire.

Does the job
I finally found an airvent phone holder that actually does the job and I'm pretty pleased with it up to now. No more rattling about which is what every other holder has done in the past so I would recommend it.

Best holder I've tried for my iphone
Holds phone well, the clip on to the heater vent is the best design I have seen. V happy with this item

"Just what i thought i needed"
I found this item was not quite suitable for me. It is quite big and not really firm enough for using with my mobile. Somehow it did not look right for my car. Very well made. But not for my car.

Works A Treat
On viewing the larger image of the product I thought it looks reasonably robust and well thought out.
On offering product to the dash of my A Class Mercedes it seems to me like original spec; I'm very pleased

Good idea, but does not work
The concept is good, but on my Mini, as the vents swivel round, it does not stay in place.
I'm sure it would be fab if your vents are fixed.

Solid as a rock
This holder is fantastic, I got it fitted to the vent so easily, and with the spring loaded lock it is also easy to remove if needed. The Legs on the dashboard really make the whole holder secure. It holds my iPhone 4 securley with the locking device, and rotates on the ball easily for when i want to use the SatNav. Never had a more sturdy or secure phone holder

I agree with Derek, this thing holds my Blackberry Torch (in case) very securely and is light years ahead of the items that have clips that slot into air vents. The ball and socket locks really well, too, so all in all nothing to fault.
I can understand that it won't work with a Saab: it is one of the few cars that has no dash panel under the vents for the stabilising legs to press against.

Doesn't work
Quite well made item but unfortunately it just doesn't work. I have a Saab 9-3 2010 model. The vent mount just hangs (at best) so no point trying to attach a phone. I am looking for an alternative having got zip use from this item.

Universal phone vent holder
Not that universal!
This is potentially a very useful device, but it does not fit all cars. It works well on our Nissan Almera, but does not work on the centre vents of a Honda Jazz.

Does Not Fit - Ford Fiesta
Seeing as the photos for this product showed a Ford Car, with the same Facial has my Fiesta 56plate i ordered the holder.
However the Metal clip is too short and does NOT fit my Fiesta air vents, i would say its atleast 2cm short.
This is a shame as i dont like the windscreen holder.
So very disappointed it failed to fit.
