LG G2 Phone falls off ...
This may be a universal holder but the LG G2 does not stay on it. It will stay for about fifteen minutes after having cleaned the back red sticky pad, but then dislodges. This is with a case on the phone, and I have not tried it with the case removed. Two star rating as the unit stays extremely well on the dash - it's just the phone holder part that is the problem. Smaller/lighter phones and without the case maybe ok - but not tested that out.

Spot on, just the job.
Great little bit of kit, with rubberised suction mount on the base. Had this a week now and its still not moved or fallen off. We also use it for the satnav. You can have the phone in portrait or landscape without having to adjust the mount, it just sticks.

Exactly what I wanted!
Does exactly what it says! Fits well on a curved dashboard and holds the phone easily in portrait or landscape without any need to remove the phone from its normal case. Haven't yet been using it long but if it continues like this I'm delighted.

LG G2
Very good product
I watched the video again which seemed pretty good and it completely acted like the video in real life. The phone sticks to it really well, the sucker works brilliantly. I do wonder how long the stickiness will last (just add water it says on the video - time will tell on that one). I have a large phone in a ballistic case, so it is pretty big, moderately heavy, wide and it stuck on magnificently. The suction cup worked really well on my curved dashboard. The phone didn't wobble at all when going around bends. It really is a great buy. As such it would fit any phone of any width. You will not be disappointed.

Seemed awkward, then I looked at the packaging...
I tried this out in the obvious ways, but none of them would stay stuck and support my phone in landscape. However, when I tried it as per the third picture on the front of the packaging, it actually worked! It's better than what it replaced because it's easy to keep the charge connector clear, and the phone stayed put, with the holder remaining in place, the whole time. I hope this hint helps others. This will certainly do the job for me.

So happy with this. You jump in the car and with one hand you chuck the phone on it and go. No fiddling with arms, just straight in and go. Keep the gel clean (just wipe it once every 2 months and she's a keeper. Impresses people due to it's unique design and gel tech. Ruddy well priced as well!

Perfect!
It does exactly what it says on the tin. The DashGenie sticks to almost any surface with its suction cup and grippy material. I stuck mine on a dimpled dashboard where other mobile holders could not get a grip. It is easy to hold the mobile in place once you get in the car... just place it on the DashGenie and it automatically grips in place... no clips to scratch your mobile phone. To remove the phone, just peel it off gently... No residue on the phone. With time the DashGenie accumulates dust and the grippy material loses its strength somewhat... just wash with cold water and wipe dry, and it's as good as new... literally. I've been using mine for a couple of years without any trouble... Now I buy them as gifts.

Samsung Galaxy S3
Great grippy holder, works fine with larger phones.
I have been using the original version of this dash mount (Dash Genie) for a couple of years now with a few different phones and find it works brilliantly with them, including my current S3. The sticky material leaves no residue, and can be made newly sticky with a simple clean with water when it gets a bit linty. So impressed with it that I have just purchased the new version for my other half to use with her S3 and car kit, and this version has addressed the only issue I have with the original by adding a ball/socket joint giving a greater range of movement and making windscreen mounting possible for those that want it.

Only thing is when you don't have a phone on it it looks like the badge on the star trek uniforms! But importantly it does the job and hasn't fallen off

Dash Genie v2
The product is well built but there are a few issues with what is realistically possible compared to the description given. Yes it will fit to a textured dash, but it must not be curved. The sticky pad really doesn't like matt finish phone covers. If you have a large phone like my Xperia SP when mounted to my windscreen (VRS Octavia)I cant tile the holder back with the phone in place. The reach from the suction cup to the holder needs to be longer. When in the holder my phone is actually angled forward from the vertical. Hope this helps people.

Reasonably priced, just the job!
I ordered two of these for both my wife's and my own car. I have fixed it in my car, but have not yet installed it in my wife's car. It fixes well to the inside of the car and in a way that it causes no damage. The biggest problem is deciding where to fit it in a modern car! The sticky pad holds a large phone securely (mine is a Nokia 720). In short it is a good product, reasonably priced and easy to install. Now I need to find the time to fit the second one in my wife's car.

Google nexus4
great product but flawed through use
This great little unit is in my van stuck to the dash. Had no problems with sticking to the plastic (unlike my other holder that is in wife's car on windscreen then floor then windscreen again...) but can be used either way if needed. Smaller flat backed phones and my nexus 4 sit fine but if you need to remove regularly (delivery driver possibly) then the adhesive loses through time. I have to take it off once a week and rub it under the tap to refresh adhesion but other than that, fantastic kit and wonderful concept but you could get fed up if you had to do it daily.

Something you can't do without
I needed a holder for the car urgently & saw this Dash Genie on offer. All the reviews about this little gadget were good so I went ahead & ordered. When I first put it in the car it seemed great, even going over all the speed bumps it stayed in place. However my daughter used it for her phone, I later put my phone on it & going over a speed bump it rolled off the dash. I'm quite cautious now, I'm not sure if she loosened it when taking her phone off or it didn't stick properly. It really is a good little gadget & would buy again. My husband said it looks like something from 'Startreck'

Sticks Like S4
This is a super product. Sticks really well to my dimpled dashboard and is ideal for my S4 which has the Samsung flip cover on it. As far as I can see there is no other holder that would work for this phone with the cover on as it still allows you to open the flap whether in portrait or landscape orientation. I can only give 4 stars because there is not quite enough adjustment on the ball fixing to get the position exactly perfect.

Not what I was Expecting
The product turned up promptly and I was surprised to find it was a sticky pad and not a magnet to hold the phone. It proved to be quite effective at first at holding the phone but with the onset of the warm weather the phone has taken to flying round the car without warning and I am now worried about driving with the windows open in case my phone flys out the window. This after 1 weeks use.

Dash Genie Universal Dashboard Windscreen Holder
Simple, easy to assemble and neat
I bought the phone holder to replace another that had recently broken. The Dash Genie is amazingly easy to assemble and despite my dash being slightly rough and curved the soft gel base pad stuck instantly. It is very firm and the phone doesn't move. I had previously stuck it to the window but thought I'd try it on the dash and it was an even better location. Close to the steering wheel and allows me to use my Sat Nav app. The soft gel support is incredibly sticky and no matter how many corners or turns are taken the phone is stuck fast. Well made of sturdy plastic and well worth the price. Excellent value and I would heartily recommend this. Tempted to purchase another just to keep if this ever breaks (although I doubt it) Would make an excellent desk holder for your phone as well.

Sticks pretty much anywhere and holds the device securely. I didn't buy his for my car as I have a built-in SatNav, I bought this because I regularly hire a van and use the Navigation on my phone, SO I wanted something that would fit on a dashboard, or windscreen ... or anywhere that was also close enough to the power source (cigarette lighter socket) on various models of vehicle. This item is perfect.

I wanted something for so long to put in my car that I could guarantee I wouldn't lose in the footwell taking a hard right turn especially off road and boy did this holder live up to its name as genius. I have the iPhone 4S and it's in a melkco leather hard cover and it still sticks to this holder like a magnet I'm so pleased I don't have to keep removing it from the cover so I can stick it easily on the go. It's also true about the foot sucker it holds on my old land rover dash which to say the least Is NOT an even surface. Thanks I will definitely be recommending this to my friends. 😊

Will not stick
Oredered this product as it seemed to fit all of my requirements, and has received much better reviews than similar products. Very disppointed, as after only a week, it will not stay in place for more than 5-10 minutes, slowly but surely peeling away from the surface. This even occurs if used as a phone stand on my table top, let alone the car dashboard! For the money, I would not rate this as even a 1-star product!

Sony Xperia Z
Certainly does as it says for the Xperia Z
Absolutely does what it says to the letter. I have stuck it to every kind of surface in my 2009 Fiesta without a single problem hooning around the back roads of Perthshire whilst it clings tenaciously to my new Xperia Z like it was stuck on with epoxy resin. Releasing is simple, just a slow firm peel gripping the top of the phone. Give it a clean once in a while - I've done it once in a fortnight - with a lint-free damp cloth and a mild detergent - I used a dab of hand soap on a piece of kitchen roll - and a quick rinse. Let it dry and it's back to max sticky!30 seconds to clean, a few minutes to dry. Same applies to the base. One mild word of warning .. loosen off the retaining nut on the ball and socket before twisting the orientation or you may loosen the pad's grip on the device just by shearing as you twist. Tighten again when you are done. This is easily accomplished to the required tensions, simply by trapping the nut between index and middle finger and twisting in the appropriate direction. This is perfectly sufficient force to loosen and tighten the nut to safe tolerances without using your thumb or having to dismount the unit from the dash etc. All in all the perfect gizmo for me .. cannot vouch for other device surfaces but the glass on the Xperia is perfect as a contact. I'm buying another one to use as a desk stand and another for the bedroom .. as useful as that! And because the stand leaves access for all but the most esoteric of micro-usb locations, it's saved me £20 on a charging dock, and it's more flexible. Braw, as we say in Perth.

As a driving instructor I was looking for something that was small enough to be not in the way but that worked. This has been excellent, the holders suction is really good and the phone sticks to the pad and does not move, and my drivers certainly put it to the test!!! More than pleased and would highly recommend. Only one thing on the downside, when twisted horizontally the phone did not stay on, so I just leave it upright.

Samsung Galaxy Note 2
Not suitable for Samsung Note 2
As far as a holder it is not bad. The sticky pad dries up pretty quickly and often needs cleaning. It is advertised as being compatible with the Samsung Note 2. It does fit, however on most windscreens you cannot get the angle, as the phone is too big. You need a holder with a neck that extends away from the windscreen. Not so much a problem if you mount it on the dash. So if you have a Note 2, don't bother. For normal size phones, it's average.

Nexus 4 E960
Dash Genie - Perfect for my requirements
I do not usually write reviews but I thought this phone holder was so good, it justified one. I bought the Dash Genie for my LG Nexus 4 E960. It is a fairly large phone so I was a little worried whether the ball joint and Sticky patches would hold the weight of the phone. In my circumstances, neither of these have been an issue. I received it over a week ago. The resistance on the ball-joint is just right, so I can easily re-position the phones angle with one hand while driving, yet it does not move over speed bumps or when you touch the screen. A few people have reported that their phone has fallen off the holder. Unless the sticky patch deteriorates very quickly, I cannot see this being an issue with mine. Actually, the only criticism I have for this holder is that its 'difficult' to get the phone off it. Removing the phone is a two-handed operation and needs a firm pull to remove it. I initially had worries that the force would lift my film protector on the back but so far this has not happened. The small platforms on the bottom seem to be more to stop the phone from turning on the pad than actually supporting any weight. I expect the stickiness to lessen as it collects dirt. (This can be restored by cleaning with water). I have attached the holder to my dashboard which has a bumpy profile on it. I have a '06 Ford, it has never fallen off and I do not drive particularly slowly. I gave the dash a good clean before attaching the 'Genie' The Nexus camera is still exposed when mounted so for those wishing to record their journeys can do so. There is also adequate clearance to have the power cable plugged in.

At last, a smart 'phone / sat nav holder that actually works on both dashtop and screen while taking up minimal space - and portable as well! I've mounted it on my dashboard as close as I need it and there is no interference with the 'phones' side or base controls. No rattles or other noises, no clasps required and very secure. Why can't they all be like this? Would make a great gift as well!

Easy to install - just stick it down where you need it. The sticker is strong and it seems like it will last. Really happy with this as it is cheap - it will hold any device and is hassle free to use.

Disapointed
The Genie took over a week to arrive although I paid first class post for, when we sent an email asking why we hadn't received it the reply was very slow and didn't exactly help. As for the Genie on the first journey it dropped off twice, the first time I thought maybe I hadn't pressed it on enough, but then it happened again about 5 miles further on, I will try it on the next trip out and then decide whether it should be returned or not. At the moment the jury is out. That said I do like it and seemed very secure to the dashboard it is whether the phone will stay put.

Sits and dash and button safe
Unlike many other in car holders, this one doesn't interfere with the side buttons on my phone (Xperia U). I have the genie permanently mounted on my dashboard and it doesn't look out of place. It's a pity it doesn't seem to stick on the dimpled part of VW Sharan dashboard but, luckily, the centre panel is smooth and suitable. Good value, and the Genie sticks well to both my phone and car :)

What a cracker
I am so impressed with the Dash Genie that I have just ordered a second one. It works with both my Blackberry and i-phone (ones mine the other is my company phone). I have spent pounds and pounds on various holders and believe me this is the only true "Does what it says on the tin" holder that I have ever seen. What a cracker. Recommend to all. Alan

Perfect dashboard phone holder.
I have a car with a textured dashboard,so I wasn't convinced that a dashboard mounted phone holder was going to work but as you can mount the Dash Genie on the windscreen as well, I thought I'd give it a try. The device works really well. It sticks like glue to the dashboard and holds the phone in either portrait or landscape without problems. The sticky pad that holds the phone to the dash genie is very clever. Its really sticky but it doesn't leave any residue on the phone when you remove it. Perfect, and cheep too.

Great product and great value
This is by far the best cradle i have ever had. Great value and very easy to use. The product sticks to my dash very firmly and the phone sticks to the sticky red circle very well without leaving any residue on the phone itself. you do need to be mindful of applying some pressure so the phone sticks well to the cradle. i didn't do this on one occasion and my phone fell off the cradle whilst driving. only ever happend once, otherwise the phone doesn't ever move. highly recommended and blows everything else out of the market based on its value!

HTC Desire
Two and a half, man!
If you look at the full review list you'll find a previous review comment I added after using this device for 2 months. I still think it is an excellent phone holder, though thought it sensible to post some additional information here to help folks make a choice. I've now been using this holder for about 2.5 years, using it at least twice a day every week day and sometimes at the weekend. The "sticky" pad is starting to seriously degrade now, sometimes having chunks pull off it, staying on the back of the phone. This is making it look shabby but it is still working. I found initially that saliva was not a good way to make it work. These days I have to moisten it to have it work, and do with a quick (transferred) lick. Of course using saliva may have caused much of the degradation - I can't say. I think it is getting close to the point where I need to replace it. And I will happily do so with the same product. Especially given the price!

This is truly an excellent piece of kit and excellent value. I travel a lot but only short distanceand always using my hands free. It is so simple, and can easily be detached and relocated to another position either on the screen or flat surface on the dash. Wifey loves it and wants one for her car.

Perfect
Looked at the reviews despite some saying it was useless I decided to buy it and I've got to say I'm glad I did I've stuck it in my new shape fiesta and its not come off since and neither has the phone which is an iPhone 4 and its got a case on which isn't even totally smooth and still works a treat. I'm not sure where the negative reviewers are sticking theirs as it works perfect for me and plenty of others :)

Best Gadget Ever!!!
This dash holder actually sticks to almost any surface and once placed there you will have to use extensive force to move it. And positioning is so easy that you cannot believe it, then there is no shaking or moving of any kind once you place your Phone, smart phone or tablet on it, seams it will stay there forever, i love it.... and I will buy one or two more for my wife and my father....

Dash Genie
All in all very good
I use this for my Palm phone and saadly because of the shape of the Palm it's not very good and falls off regularly. However when I use my HTC Desire it holds it fine and rarely if ever falls off, the angle adjustment is good and doesn't come loose. Once in a while you do have to wash the dashboard sucker and the red sticky pad as they get dusty and loose their grip eventually. Overall I'm very pleased with it and, as my young son says, it looks like a rocket :-)

Hold That Mobile Telephone!
Dear Sirs. "Straight out of the box" The Dash Genie on held on tight to my Mobile Telephone. The Dash Genie was placed with no fuss onto my Farm Tractors windscreen in a trice and it stays there! We were then ready to bale up the silage fodder and also keep in touch with The World! The Dash Genie keeps my Mobile safe and also out of my pockets so that I am more comfortable driving my tractor. I can now see the mobile actuate and I do not miss any calls. If by chance I am not wearing my Jabra Wave "Blue Tooth" device it does not matter to much as can I "see" the call, accept the call, stop the silage baling and then answer the incoming call! At the finish I can remove the mobile quickly, move onwards and transfer the mobile elsewhere. All in all The Dash Genie is an excellent and well thought out devise that I now rely on. I have bought 4 more for my other Tractors, Land Rover Disco and Scoobie Do car. I sincerely recommend The Dash Genie! The Dash Genie is OK! Rob.

Not Really Successful
Last year when in the US I bought an iPhone Car Holder which is the same design as this. It was - and still is - great. Works all the time. The sticky pad holds the phone and it stays put. Having two cars, I bought this product for my wife to use. It looks identical to my other one but the sticky just doesn't hold the phone for any length of time. So the whole thing is useless. Now I'm looking for a grip version which will attach to the base unit.

Fantastic Car Holder
This is a fantastic car holder. Not only does it do what "it says on the tin" and holds you mobile phone securely in place either on the dash or the windscreen, but it looks stylish as well - like something from the original Star Trek series. Waste of money.
Product is advertised as working with dimpled dashboards but it would not stick to the dash of my Clio for more than 10 seconds. Stuck to the windscreen fine but then the boom isn't long enough to accommodate my iPhone 4s without it touching the windscreen. Not that it would have made any difference as my phone fell off within seconds anyway. Very disappointed.

SE Xperia Pro
It does indeed stick to dashboard
Was pleasantly surprised with this product as the red dot is sticky substance which is very similar to those florescent toys you may have had a kid and threw against the wall and watched it crawled down the wall. However the stickiness is stronger and does as advertised. The base in the photo looks like your conventional sat nav suction cup mount, but it isn't it has the same sticky stuff as the red dot, the suction cup just adds that bit extra sticking power. The strange thing was it stuck better on the dashboard than the (unused at the time) plastic shiny disc that the sat nav suction cup mount normally sticks too. Had it a few weeks now, and still not has not lost it’s stickiness. So have not tried the wash it with water to revive stickiness as yet. The phone holder looks flimsy but is strong enough to hold my phone in portrait or landscape modes.

HTC One S
Just the job
I bought this to replace a windscreen attached holder which following a change of phone was rather awkward to use and vibrated a lot. Despite all the positive reviews I was a little sceptical that it would work very well in my Punto Evo, dimpled dash and charger socket under tension. Well I needn't have worried about it fitting on the dash, it's secure and vibration free. However the charger lead I had been using placed just enough tension,at the right angle, on the socket on the phone to peel it away from the pad after a couple of minutes. But a change of lead to utilise the USB supply socket in the centre console did the trick and the phone has stayed stuck when used ever since. Also tends to stick better since I fitted a Gel Case to the phone, the back is now totally smooth.

Very impressive!
I have bought and tried several different phone holders ith varying success, but this one beats them all hands down!I should say it works best when upright (landscape) rather than sideways (hrizontal), as the phone doesn'tmove in this position, but has fallen off once or twice the other way round, but it stills holds the phone incredibly well without clutter or other clamp parts getting in the way. Perfect for my mobile
Amazing price for this mobile phone holder. It took me a few seconds to place it in my car and holds my HTC Desire well. I need to wash the sticky plate twice a week to keep its stickyness but as I only need a damp cloth and it just takes seconds I am happy to do this as it has saved me £40 pounds from the other mobile phone holder I considered. When the stickyness starts to go, I place my phone landscape and it has always held it in place until I have finished my journey. Amazing product for the price you pay.

Dash Genie in Car Holder v2
Does what it says on the box
I have been looking for a mobile phone holder that stays stuck on to the car dashboard for years. Usually great claims are made about such items, but sadly I have found them all lacking, until now. Having read about the Dash Genie in a car magazine, where it was rated highly, I decided to buy one. It was relatively inexpensive, compared to some I have bought, and has stayed stuck to the dashboard as promised. It holds my HTC smartphone securely, with little vibration and I can use all the buttons on the side side of the phone as it is held by a sticky pad, rather than being clamped. There is no residue from the sticky pad. It is the best holder I have ever owned and I would recommend it to anyone looking for a secure and convenient in-car phone holder.

A bit disappointed really. Doesn't stick to upper part of Laguna III textured dash. Ball joint doesn't lock very well and the support bracket is not very rigid. My 5 inch screen sat nav wobbles about making using the touch screen difficult. Having said that it looks neat and once stuck hasn't fallen off. OK for phones but not really suitable for larger sat navs IMO.

This was well worth the money spent. It is by far the best phone holder I have purchased. It did stick to the dashboard, unlike other phone holders. very useful
I am disabled and can only use my right hand, therefore found it awkward to juggle between phone, driving controls and sat-nav remote at the same time. The dash genie was ideael as I can stick my phone and sat-nav remote to the windscreen within easy reach and concentrate on driving. I found, however, that the dash genie did not stick to the dimpled surface of the dashboard of my Renault Clio but worked well on the glass of the windscreen.

Amazing kit
Having attempted to dislodge both the holder and my phone from their respective mounted positions in my car, (I navigate 14 cattle grids to and from work each day), I have now given up! The holder itself has, I assume, the same adhesive as the red dot intended for the phone, supplemented by an additional locking system. This makes it stick to everything with a flat-ish surface in my car and I have plumped for my sloping, (mottled), dash, so that I can access the charging port on my phone without wires hanging from the windshield. The cradle accommodates my Samsung Galaxy Nexus with ease and, even though I have a silicon sleeve on the phone, anchors it to the cradle with no chance of it coming loose without some serious pressure. The oddest thing is the absence of sticky residue on the back of my phone when taken off the cradle. When not in use, I use the plastic disc it packaged with to cover the red dot – preventing dust accumulation. Full marks, although I wish the boon had been slightly longer. If windscreen mounted, my screen’s angle prevents the large Nexus phone from being used in portrait mode.

Very good
I was a little doubtful about this but it fixes well to the dash and holds the phone well too. You just need to be careful if you move the position of your phone whilst in the holder as it can loosen the vacuum and cause the holder to be less tight but otherwise it's really good for then price and I am very happy. Oh and it does lose its stickiness but a quick moisten and alls well again.

Mostly pleased. It sticks well to pimpled dashboards and windows and the phone sticks and stays stuck in the portrait position but drops off after a while in landscape due to no supports underneath when rotated like that. Summary - fine as a phone holder but not really very good for sat nav use really....

Far too happy with this purchase given what it is!
This is really quite nifty. Whoever thought you could be so pleased with a mundane object like a car dock! it sits on my dimpled dashboard, it's small and discreet and it's relatively cheap plus it holds everything in place quite strongly. I'm not a rate everything i'm happy with 5* person but I think this is pretty nifty and deserves a 5 because I really can't see what could be improved! fits a galaxy nexus quite snugly.

Dash genie v2
First class product....Never moved once on first 19 mile trip mounted on the dash. Only problem might be if the phone is shorter than 110mm in length which creates a small gap allowing slight amount of twist on the phone.(having said that it never dropped off) Maybe an adjustable leg on one side might be a good addition on future versions so making the phone more stable when in horizontal display position. 4.5/5

Unimpressive
Only used it three times as it doesn't inspire confidence that it has my device. The sticky pad is too thick causing the phone to sit proud of the holder. As a result the phone moves and wobbles. The suction holder is too short to hold the Nokia Lumia 800 on the windscreen as it the top of the phone touches the glass. The suction efficiency is good on glass but poor on smooth or dimpled plastic and it comes loose and unstuck within a few hours. Found the product disappointing and orchestrated in a sloppy fashion.

Made my wish come true!
I'm not saying I believe in magic and fairies and the like, but if I did somewhere at the bottom of a garden someone came up with something truly magical with this holder. It sticks to my dashboard, it sticks to my phone, it even sticks in the position I put it in (I mean it doesn't give up the ghost and fall sideways when the phone is attached as others I've had in the past). Not only that, but it also holds the phone still, there is no annoying vibration shake I've had in the past so I can actually see what's on the screen, something I find quite handy when using the Sat Nav on my phone! The service from the elves at Mobile Fun was great, fabulous communication throughout, easy to use website and fast delivery at the busiest time of year! I would highly recommend this product to all my friends and family, and I would equally highly recommend Mobile Fun. Thanks to all the elves!

Most stable yet!
Saw one of these in a friends car and bought total 3, 1 for each vehicle. Best thing is that it is able to stick to a normal dashboard rather than trying to find a place on the windscreen. Even dimpled dash or mobile phone case is no problem. I've had many before ranging from £5-£40, this is the most stable by far.

Not all its cracked up to be
After trying it in several different places on the dash of my '06 Megane, it seems to stick OK however it won't keep hold of my SGS2, I dunno if the phones to heavy but even after wetting the sticky red pad it still won't hold for more than 10 mins without it falling off the holder. Not good enough in my opinion

A wonderful Product...
The Dash Genie In Car Holder is a fantastic product at a very reasonable price and does exactly as it says on the packaging. It is a flexible phone holder, that will support almost any mobile phone securely in the car and can be mounted on the dashboard or the window. The semi-sticky pads help with the mounting as well as securing the phone to the mount. It is an excellent product - and well worth the money.

Superb - I have tried the rest....
After many attempts to find a suitable solution to hold my iPhone in the car I found this on the mobile fun website, simple and easy to use and has not event come close to falling off (problems which i have had in the past), the suction is fantastic. Holding the phone and releasing is a breeze. I highly recommend this product. great value and quick delivery, well done to mobilefun.

Not only that, but the pad which fixed the holder to my dashboard also kept falling off!!!! Overall and absolute shocker of a product and will resume my search for an effective car holder for my iphone 4!

Slippery Stuff
This is a brilliant looking gadget and a great idea for those of us who like to use the superior qualities of a smartphone GPS system over a standalone SatNav. However, I have an HTC Wildfire S, which has its socket precisely where ALL bracket style holders have their bracket - that's the reason I bought the Dash Genie. My HTC is very pretty, sleek and fabulous, with a beautiful white back panel which is sticky blob resistant. On a non-stick rating of 1-10 it turns out to be two steps up the ladder from Teflon. It sticks on alright, but the slightest pressure from (say, in my case) the springy power cable, makes it slowly turn and fall off. A great pity, as so far HTC don't seem to be marketing a compatible cradle and this looked like the only way. Maybe I'll experiment with elastic bands, though it would rather spoil both the gizmo point and the aesthetic. Great concept guys, but (as I think you warn in your blurb) for some smoothie phones it won't work. Three stars just for the concept!

Excellent depending on your device
This is a very clever device holder using a sticky circle in the middle of the holder to firmly hold the device. Don't know what the material is but it holds firm, leaves no residue and is easy to detach the device from. The only problem is the weight of my phone. I have an htc sensation which is a fairly heavy phone inside of a case. Without the case the phone holds fine and other phones inside cases seem to hold fine. Unfortunately the combined weight of my phone and case is a little too much for this holder and it does not stick firmly enough when driving (perhaps it's my driving!). Anyway, to help you decide whether to get this - it does exactly what it says. If you plan to keep your phone in a case consider the weight of it but otherwise - great concept and product.

I having been looking for a suitable holder for my mobile so that I can use it for gps and press the odd button. Hold the phone!
I read a lot of reviews regarding the Dash Genie before I went ahead and made a purchase, which was something I did driven a lot by the good price of it. I wonder whether some people have read the instructions for attaching it properly, though it is quite easy to install, as I cannot fault it at all. Mine is locked on to my 02 reg Mondeo dash and has been solidly fixed there since I first positioned it. It carries my HTC Sensation very well in both landscape and portrait positions with the charger plugged into the cigar lighter, and the phone is in a case as well. In a nutshell - It's the badgers nadgers!

Almost there!
It stuck to my dashboard okay at first but in the heat of the day it did fall off. I reset it and it has remained in place ever since. It is small and doesn't get in the way - unlike my old windscreen phone holder. The one downside side is the sticky disc that holds the phone in place. This is also affected by heat and my phone fell off a couple of times as I was driving. If the phone was squeezed very hard onto it it did remain in place but doing that every time is not always convenient. I had to tilt the holder back slightly to keep the phone in the holder.

Very happy with my purchase!
Never bothered with a car mount before this one as I've never found use for it but this was a bargain and I figured it was worth a shot for ease of accessing music on my iPhone 4. Decided the best place for it on my little Yaris was the small window section in front of the main drivers-side window. I stuck it to the glass and clamped it down but then realised I'd put it upside down. Then I worried about it being stuck as other reviewers had mentioned. Un-clipped it and removed easy, then re-attached and was just as stuck on as the first time. iPhone 4 sticks to the red holder pad perfectly well as long as your phone doesn't have greasy fingerprints all over it. My iPhone now sits within easy reach and view just to the outside of the dash and even holds fast when the door is opened and closed. Very happy with my purchase! The only think I need now is a longer audio cable to plug into the aux of the car.

Be careful, it might damage your dashboard !
It worked "OK" in the beginning but after a while suction does not really do the trick (even after cleaning). But the WORST part is that it damaged my dashboard, there is a permanent circle that I just can not remove. Thankfully I will soon scrap the car so it is not major. But if this would be my new/next car and this happened I would be EXTREMELY mad. Just a word of caution, use it to set on the window, NOT on the dashboard. BTW, if you seat it on the window you can not keep the HTC or iPhone upright, the arm is not long enough to extend out from the glass. Thus, this is a warning.... Think before buying, but especially before using it in your car.

not what I was hoping for !
Well you asked me to be honest about this product and I will be .!! Looking at this phone holder and having read both good and bad reviews I thought I would purchase not one but two as most reviews were good but oh dear Im afraid I have to agree with the bad reviews as they said that it failed to stick on the dash and left round marks which I too have found! I have a picasso and my dash is as flat as you can get and when I first put it on I was pleased and it all seemed fine ,but when I got in the car the next morning I put the phone on the holder and the whole lot fell off and chipped my phone , also as other reviews have said it DID leave a round ring which I cant get off .I bought one for my wifes car (vauxhall frontera) and yes you have guessed it same thing all over again, so have to say very disappointed ,but some people have not had these problems (lucky them). OK not one to be beaten or waste £35.00 thought how can I cure this and am pleased to say I have done just that by getting a piece of clear perspexs cutting it slightly bigger then bought myself some HEAVY DUTY double sided tape and cut it to size and stick it on the perspex first then take backing off carefully and put it on the dash in the place that you wont the phoneto be !Problem solved

I purchased 2 Dash Genies a few weeks ago - 1 for me and 1 for my husband. Mine fell off after sticking on very well for a few days, leaving an unremovable mark on the dashboard of my brand new car. Not good!!! And definitely not happy!!
What can I say about this product. Nothing positive that's for sure! When it arrived it looked like a decent piece of kit but as soon as I got it out of the pack it was obvious it wasn't going to work. The unique sticky pad they mention will NOT hold an I phone 4.. It will NOT stick to any dashboard it has to be smooth and flat not textured at all. And if you have to stick or in your windscreen, which kind of goes against the whole dash part, then it won't hold the I phone 4 and it won't work without your phone hitting the windscreen. In a shirt sentence absolutely useless and a waste of time.. Don't bother!!

Innovative solution to multi-use cradle problem
This cradle was recommended to me and I am not disappointed. It is used for all our phones/Ipods and sticks to the slightly curved and textured dash just fine. Looking at some of the poorer reviews, I'm not sure if there's a quality issue that explains some of the problems. Also, I clean my dash with a damp cloth and detergent - I don't use Dashboard Shine or other such polishes.

I got this for my iPhone 4 to go in my Ford Focus Mk 1. Clearly drilled is the best option, but I don't fancy lowering the resale value of my car - and wanted something neater than a window-suckered mount. First, this NEEDS a flat surface. The first piece of dash planned, which has a very slight curve it would not stay stuck to. Also, a complete design flaw is that you can NOT use this with an iPhone 4 on a windscreen, as the mount itself is simply too short and the iPhone ends up meeting the windscreen at the top first. I moved it the centre-left/rear of my dash, which is a little far away but non-obstructive and it sticks great - hasn't moved in two weeks. I certainly wouldn't trust this in landscape mode, no way, but for a portrait phone-holder mounted at the top of my dash, it does a great job.

Having purchased a dash genie a while ago it sat on my dash with my nokia phone quite well except rhe adhesive pad began to disintegrate. I returned it under warranty and it was rplaced with a newer version. I have now moved on to a blackberry in the last few days and the unit does not support the phone and the suction pad is not enough to take the weight. Not quite right
Well this thing does seem to be quite happy to stick to my windscreen and some bits of the dashboard (but not anywhere with any sort of curve to it, even gentle ones), however it just won't stick to the back of my iPhone 4. Tried cleaning the phone and the sticky pad with no change in the holders ability to do it's job so ended up securing the phone in place with an elastic band. So it kind of works but is a bit of a pain to use with the elastic band. Also if you stick this to your dash you'll probably find that it isn't possible to get the iPhone charger into the phone as the whole thing sits too low down. Generally could try harder.

This is a great little gadget. My Backberry torch fits nicely on to the holder and stays there. I can't think of any phone that would not stick to it and stay there. The sucket pad does stick to any surface as stated. I could not work out how it would fit to the window whilst getting the correct angle so you could still see the phone. Fits to a dimpled dashboard great and my phone (HTC TouchPro2) stuck to the holder fine. The problems begin if the journey gets a bit bumpy or you turn the car i.e. going around roundabouts when the phone fell off into the footwell. Blackberry sits perfectly in the holder and has not moved or come out during many journeys and hundreds of miles. Only minor issue with Blackberry is the flimsy light phone back that will come off and stay on the holder if you pull it away sharply - this is no fault of the holder and purely a Blackberry 'feature'. Overall very satisfied for the price.

Damaged Dash
As another user reported, it was working well for a few weeks. It then lost its grip and fell of dash revealing a circle indentation on my 1 month old Audi TT Dash board. What is essentially a £15 phone holder will now cost me £1800 to replace the dash. Not a happy camper.

So far so good
I've only had this item a week or so, but am very impressed so far. I have used it in 3 different cars, on both smooth and lightly dimpled surfaces and it has stayed attached on both. My phone has a case on which gives it a smooth, flat rear surface, and this has never become detached from the holder, but is still easy to remove when you need to. I have found the easiest way is to use a "peeling" action, which seems to release the phone with very little effort. So far, I have not had to clean either sticky surface, so I can't comment on how easy or effective this is. Overall - very pleased, very impressed and would thoroughly recommend.

My htc wildfire falls off alot, although angling it back a bit helps alot. Think the red dot idea should be replaced with a bigger dot, or more conventional cradle. However the sucker part is brilliant on windscreen or dash. Super grippy! just improve the red dot. May have to use a rubber band around my phone!.

Dissapointing
Seems very sticky and appears firm but seems to just fall off at the wrong moments, both the phone from the holder (Samsung Galaxy S) and the holder from the dash or windscreen or wherever it is stuck to. Have tried in different cars but same result. Dissapointing

Great Product - DWISOTT
I was sceptical as to the effectiveness of the design, but following good reviews I took the plunge. I am pleasantly surprised - the design is extremely user friendly. The mount has not moved since being put in place and the phone sits on and comes off when you want - but not when you don't!

Simple and effective, but could have been better
So the curved back of my desire HD doesn't lend itself to good contact with the sticky pad on this stand but none the less it holds it sufficiently. However it doesn't take much to pull the phone free from the stand so I can't help feel that it could and probably will come loose at some point. If the pad were little larger it would be a different story so why don't the manufacturers play it safe and implement this simple fix? Anyway it's been all good sor far and it's simple design is just what I was looking for.

Almost - but not quite!
Sorry to say, but much as I wanted this little gadget to be a raging success and deliver all that was promised, I'm afraid that it is only partially successful for me. In the last month, my mobile phone has fallen from the holder at least five times, usually following a bump in the road, or pothole. It is neat a small, but I have now learned to lie my phone almost on its back to try to ensure its stability, and that is not what I wanted. I wanted something slim and to be virtually perpendicular when mounted, but if I do that, my phone falls out. Pity.

grippy and sticky. nice.
I have found Dash Genie to be really very good. It has never once let go of my iphone 4, which I attach in the portrait position - the sticky pad is quite amazing, it gives the impression of not having a great grip of the phone, but never lets go, and takes little effort to pluck the phone off the holder. I have the Dash Genie attached to my dash rather than windscreen and it works very well. It seems well attached and vVery little vibration is transmitted to the phone so I can see the sat nav screen quite easily. It does an excellent job for a great price. With this plus the free Skobbler sat nav app, and a cheap fag-lighter charger, I have a great value sat nav for not much cash.

Works Perfectly
I was a bit uncertain about buying this after seeing some reviews saying it's unreliable but it's worked perfectly for me. I have a nexus one and as long as you push it onto the pad firmly, it's held securely. I've been using it now for 3 weeks and it hasn't failed yet. It sticks very securely to my dash which is textured, you have to pick a spot that isn't too curved though.

Does What It Claims
Used with a Sony Ericsson X10 Mini Pro when using as a GPS - phone appears a bit small for the stand but it is ok. Used only 3 times, but once on a very, very bumpy fen track - phone dislodged but after leaning the stand back a little more it then remained in situ. Fixes well on bumpy surface of dash so that it takes minor eye time from the road. Quite Impressive really. 4 stars because it is not quite right for the small phone.

Not quite the holy grail
I am using this with my Samsung Omnia 7 smart phone. I love how I can attach it to my dashboard or window but I have experienced my phone falling off when used in landscape orientation. I also have to remove the silicone case from my phone as it won't stick otherwise (I did know this before purchasing). The little foot at the bottom of the stand blocks the Omnia's microphone but I could still have a conversation if I spoke up! I also dislike the 80s red dot and the way it resembles the Star Trek emblem. I would prefer it to be rectangular with a wider or more spread out sticky area. If I try to use the phone while connected, tapping the top of the screen can knock it loose.

I did not fully believe the reviews of this product when I read them, it sounded too good to be true. Now that I have one installed in my car and have been using it for a few weeks I must agree with all of the positive comments it has received. It holds both my mobiles securely (not at the same time) and is an excellent design.I think the use of the 'sticky smart material' on both the 'sucker' and for holding the phone is very innovative.

Totally useless!
If you own an iPhone 4, and drive for longer than 5 minutes at speeds over and above those your grandmother would do, then don't bother! :) In a 1 hour journey, the iPhone fell off half a dozen times, no matter how hard I pushed it on. A combination of the slippy glass on the phone and a few roundabouts taken at average speed was too much for the sticky red dot to handle.

Hmmm?
Arrived promtly as usual from MF. However, it will not stick on the textured slopping surface of my g/fs car. Have cleaned the surface properly and it will not hold in place for more than a few seconds. The sticky bit that holds the phone is good. Phone sticks to it solidly and does not leave any residue on the back of the phone. Overall I am sure a great product for those with a nice flat, smooth, horizontal surface to attach to.

Not that great
After reading numerous reviews I was expecting something pretty special. The mounting system on V2 is pretty good but the "Sticky" pad which you attach your phone to leaves alot to be desired. I've pushed the clean back of the phone onto the clean sticky pad with such pressure I was worried about cracking the phone, When I let go it appeared to stick but with a very light movement the phone fell off. This happened with a HTC Desire, Sony Erricson K80I, HTC Magic and Nokia N95. Mount any of these sidways and even under slight braking it falls off. Not impressed, Maybe I've got a duff one?

Slim, easy to use holder. Quick easy to fix to the car fascia and it stays secure. The adhesive method of securing your mobile is very good and the whole thing is very onobtrusive. Superb Item - Works as Advertised!
A rare day to find something that actually lives up to its blurb...I have gone through a couple of windscreen type holders with total disappointment. I was about to give up when came accross this - looked like it may solve the problem and the reviews were good...I recieved the item and all looked good - the soft, sticky suction cup at the base gripped my dashboard (which is textured) so hard I cannot pull it off without risking damage! So far so good...The phone is held in place by a sticky pad and I was dubious that this would hold on over the bumpy roads we have here, no need to worry though - the phone is held firmly in place never looking like it will come loose - I have a spiral charger connected which pulls slightly but this is easily resisted. I have been using for a couple of weeks now and all is still perfect - I also found that I could position the phone in a more comfortable place than with a windscreen type mount. All in all it does what it is intended to do, a better option than the windscreen units (for my preference anyway) and is built well. Worth the money.

WelNot ideal for heavier smart phones
Well it did not do what the video promised. Using a Galaxy s and a HTC Wildfire. Both phones are a bit to heavy to stay attached. The htc fell off when used by my wife and the Galaxy when I tested the sticky pad over a soft chair kept falling off too. In short to risky to risk hundreds of pounds worth of phone and cracked screens. Shame as the concept its good.

Actually AMAZING !
I've tried at least 6 different mobile phone cradles for my Toshiba TG01, without any of them being 100% suitable. The problem being is that the TG01 is a BIG phone but the speaker is in the rear at the bottom, so when in a conventional cradle mount the speaker is blocked virtually muting the speaker! After watching the video for the Dash Genie In Car Holder v2 I purchased one. It is amazing. Not only does it install easy and hold the phone securely, it does not block the speaker either in vertical or horizontal mode. Worth twice the price and that's from a skinfint.

Flawed phone mount - phone fell off
Dash Genie In Car Holder v2 Seemed like a great idea. Sticks to the windscreen perfectly (I think). But I stuck my Nokia 5800 to the pad and very soon after that, as I was driving, the phone fell off. It seemed firm enough when I attached it. Presumably a sharp bump has the same effect as pulling sharply on the phone in order to remove it deliberately. Luckily phone was undamaged. I'm disinclined to try it again! Pity there is not a holder with similar windscreen sucker and a conventional phone mount.

I have tried various types of phone holder over the years, and they have all been fiddly to attach, and invariably always fall onto the floor when the road gets bumpy. Absolutely brilliant
I was sceptical about this product but it came as a freebie when I ordered the desk Genie. What can I say. It is fantastic. The best car phone holder I have ever tried. Sticks very well to the dashboard but is easily repositioned. My only critism, which could also be considered a positive comment in a way is that the phone sticks to it so well, it is hard to remove and you end up having to re-adjust the holder each time. It concerns me that this could weaken it after a while. It is not made of the most robust plastic I've come across.

Don't get me wrong it is a good product, but don't expect this holder to keep your phone secure for a long journey. If you want your phone to stay on, then you need to angle the holder at about 45 degrees so that it doent fall off.

Dash Genie
Having seen the video on your website I was very impressed. This is a neat alternative to traditional phone holders and it sticks to my dash like a limpet. I have a gripe however: it will not hold my Desire HD in landscape mode at all, which is a shame as the nav on this phone is not bad. It's not the end of the world, as the nav is still useable in portrait, though it was nearly the end of my phone, as it fell off about 5 times before I finally gave up. This is definitely a good alternative to bulkier and messier phone holders, though I have found myself reverting to one of these more than I have been using the genie.
