Very good phone (after you upgrade it to 2.1)
The phone is very snappy. I do not really see any need for a dual core considering how snappy this one is. Two problems: 1. You have to have a google account ready for use prior to upgrade to Android 2.1. If you try to create an account on the fly post upgrade the market gets stuck in the "forever download state". The only solution is a reset to factory defaults. 2. The phone can eat the battery quite fast if you use apps heavily. Normal use - calling, messaging, light browsing, a touch of email and mp3 playing is OK. Pictures are good with a slight colour balance problem. Nothing photoshop cannot fix. Reception, wifi, browsing, etc - all top notch. Overall very good value for the money - solid 4.

An awesome all round smartphone
I was in the market for a new phone about 12 months ago, replacing my well-used Nokia N95. I definately wanted to go Android and lose the Symbian shackles. There were a few phones available then that really stood out from the crowd, but the Xperia X10 was it for me... until they released the mini. It has all the power of the full size phone in a tiny package. Because its screen is so much smaller battery life is massively increased. I leave my WiFi on all the time and browse daily with it, but it only needs charging every two to three days, even with heavy use. The screen is responsive and crystal clear. The camera is brilliant, lacking only a zoom... but what do you expect in a package this small. My one and only complaint is that one month after the X10 Mini they brought this phone out, the X10 Pro. I got stuck with the mini, but the Pro keyboard is frankly amazing. I ended up paying the difference on my contract and getting the pro version. The build quality is great, the keyboard is surprisingly easy to use given the small package and it is still a tiny powerhouse. If only Apple made phones like this then all the trend-followers would have an actually useful phone.

An excellent "Mini Smartphone"
I have always like Sony Ericsson phones. However, up until now their "app" availability on smartphones has been poor. This phone is great. Uses the Android platform, so access to the thousands of apps on the marketplact. Has all the features you'd expect on a Smartphone, such as camera, music player, organiser functions etc. Whilst having all of these functions, the options to customise is limited, e.g. no zoom on the camera and only volume control on the music player. Having said that, it takes excellent photos in nearly all conditions and the sound on the music player is very well balanced, so sounds great! A fantastic little phone! Finally, having large hands, I'd be frustated only using the touchscreen keyboard, so having the slide out qwerty keyboard is great! I like it a lot!

Sony Ericsson Xperia X10 Mini Pro
Bought this as a birthday present for my son, who is over the moon at having been the lucky recipient. Great little phone, very powerful, with all the gadgets that bigger phones have. I actually really like it too, and would seriously contemplate this as my next phone purchase.
