Neat & finctional
Good looking case. Fits phone well, although I prefer to insert the top part of the phone first. This ensures charging port is readily available. Not too thick i.e. does not expand the volume of the phone too much in ones pockets.

Perfect!
What can I say, this case is exactly what I needed. Fits my phone perfectly due to its contoured shape, looks good and has a nifty pull tab on the back to allow fumble-fingers like me to slide the phone out of the case easily.

Fantastic case...
Had this case for around 10 month now, and it's still as good as when I first bought it. I tried several other cases including the flexishield (which is also good but I prefer a pocket case, and it discoloured from clear to yellow over time) but this tops them all. Contrary to concerns by a previous reviewer about 'purple marks' from the strap, I have no marks left on my hero whatsoever, and it's the white version. It's a very snug fit, with no worries of my Hero slipping out, and the build quality is excellent. I have found cheaper cases are baggy, and the seams fall apart after a month or 2. More expensive than other cases, but you get what you pay for.

This does exactly what it is supposed to do - protect the Hero from everyday knocks in a well fitting case, yet it provides easy access when the phone is needed.
OK, the top edge of the Hero is open to the elements and some would argue that it may be vunerable if it is dropped on its head, but otherwise this is the perfect case and extremely good value for money.
It is very well made and the Hero fits it like a glove.
Certainly one of - if not the best phone case I have come across.

HTC Hero Capdase Smart Pocket Case Review
After a little deliberation I decided to purchase this case as I have been using the flip style for a while now. The quality of the case is second to none and it protects the phone extremely well (which is what a case is for after all). I was not disappointed with the case but it does have an annoying design flaw. The down side is the cord ejection system. The cord is not a problem itself (it's actually quite good) but when you eject the phone (sliding it out of the case) it quite often answers your call (I have to slide the screen down to answer my calls and dismiss reminders) which can be a bit annoying. I also keep turning the volume down(or off) when taking the phone out of the case as the only part of the phone you can grab are the sides (where the volume control is), unless it's just my big fat fingers that are creating this problem. These problems aside, overall I'm happy with the case.

Quality case
I really like this case and there's no doubting it's quality. On the plus side it looks good, the lining is a nice touch and the pull cord makes for easy access. Unfortunately though mine isn't a perfect fit as approx 4mm of the phone protrudes from the top. If dropped, the top corners could be damaged as per reports from another reviewer. The microfibre lining should prevent scratching but don't expect it to clean your screen too much. It all depends what you want really - I'm willing to live with the points above as I like to hold the phone in my hand. If you want total protection go for the capdase leather book case.

Good protection.
I bought this to protect the Hero in more hazadous situations, like mountain biking etc. It is quite bulky but never really planned to use it whilst wearing jeans, so not an issue. I have not dropped even after getting this, but would reasonably think the hero to be reasonably protected.

Good, but two slight problems.
Nice enough case that looks nice and fits the Hero a charm, but in the space of a couple of weeks or so I managed to not only drop my phone which resulted in the top corner of my phone getting scratched (as it is relatively unprotected along the top edge), but also and perhaps most damning of all, the black strap that is used to push the phone out of the case has gradually begun to leave a dark purple stain along the back of my Hero aswell as on the bottom of the chin, in the exact shape of the strap.
It's worth pointing out that my Hero is the graphite version exclusive to Orange, but I would assume this would be worse for the traditional white version.
Shame as I liked the case overall, but it wasn't sufficient protection after all, and the purple markings won't come off and as it turns out it's really rather expensive to get it repaired.
Went for a flexi shield variant instead.

A massive improvement on my previous case, the hero fits perfectly and the cleansing microfibre is a great feature.

Couldn't be better!
This is the best case I have found for the HTC Hero. The shape is perfect and keeps the phone snug in the puch. It doesn't fall out if tipped upside down like my previous one which was always tip the phone out in my handbag. The pull tab allows you to easily remove the phone from the case when required. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED and well worth the wait for it to be in stock.
