M-Edge Latitude Kindle Jacket - Red

Good product, delivered quickly... Nice quality, and does a good job of protecting Kindle 3 in transit, but... Slightly too big for Kindle 3, so the bits of elastic which are supposed to hold the Kindle in place don't actually do so - I assume they do for earlier, bigger Kindles... Not an issue for me - I really wanted something to protect the Kindle on the move...

First things first, this jacket was designed for the slightly larger Kindle 2. It's about half an inch too big all the way round. The fastenings keep the Kindle in place but it wouldn't take much to shake it loose if you weren't careful. On the plus side, it's still a good jacket and provides ample protection with two zips that give access to three sides. The "front cover" can be folded back on itself so the Kindle can be held one-handed. I find myself happier to leave the Kindle in the jacket most of the time even when I'm using it at home - somehow it seems easier to read with a little more bulk to it. Given the dearth of non-Amazon covers for the 3rd generation Kindle, I've decided to keep the jacket despite it being slightly too large. I will probably replace it when the 3rd generation versions start shipping but there's only so long that you can carry your new toy around in its cardboard box.

The jacket is ideal for carrying my Kindle to work inside my handbag. I keep the Kindle in a leather cover and I was impressed that this also fits inside the Kindle jacket. It fits into a handbag and has the added benefit of being doubly protective with the two covers.

Lovely colour and beautifully made but too heavy. Neoprene would be a better fabric and the latest Kindle does not fit comfortably in the jacket. The elastic holding straps are not the right size and the Kindle slips around. Very disappointed

It is easy to slip the Kindle into the elastic corner straps of this lightweight jacket. The Kindle is held securely while leaving all the controls easily accessible. The fabric feels robust, the zips work smoothly and the cover folds back for single-handed reading. The colour is an attractive deep red, much nicer than the catalogue reproduction. I can fit the USB lead and the earphones into the front zip pocket but the UK power socket adaptor is too bulky to carry comfortably in this case.
