Phone arrived as expected sim inserted all functions working except instant messenger - main reason for purchase. Tried for hours (days eventually) to get info and found loads of people with same problem but no solution. Eventually found that you need to get your provider to enable a different kind of connection protocol for this feature to work - its cost more of course!!

Worth every penny. Best phone/smartphone ever made. Blackberry all the way from now on. I recommend this device to everybody.

Once you have the hang of various quirks and can navigate the icons this is an easy to use phone - within reason. Setting up BlackBerry messenger and email took longer that I thought but once set up it is a good tool. This phone is far better than any of the touch screen phones that I have had in the past. Recommended.

This is my first Blackberry and it will probably be my first of many as it really is on another level from previous handsets. * Display is fantastic really crisp. * Compact keyboard can be difficult with big thumbs, but with curved keys makes quick texting and emails effortless. Far superior than any touch screen. * Internet browser is good and really speedy with 3G and wifi. * Track pad much better than the track ball version in my opinion. * Battery life generally good too. The only bad point I would associate with this handset is the limited number of apps that in comparison to that of the iphone. Overall , love it.

Fab phone, love it

I did return my 'original' order as the handset, in my opinion, was faulty - or at least, had some sort of 'glitch' right out of the box. I now have a replacement and have no problems with frozen web pages or 'fatal error exception' messages that I had on my previous one. Therefore, I can only assume that BBB no. 1 was faulty. I've now had a chance to have a proper play with this 'baby' and it does so much. OK, so it's not an iPhone but it really depends on what you're looking for in a phone. If you want one with a good camera, don't buy this one - get a dedicated 'camera phone'. If you want one that plays music seamlessly, get an iPhone! Need I go on?! This does what it's meant to,i.e. email, messaging, exceptionally well. The browser isn't brilliant but it is bearable. Call quality is excellent and the loud speaker is brilliant - let's just hope that this version of the Bold doesn't succumb to the speaker problems of its predecessor! Happy Crackberrying!!!

I've just got the 9700, it was a bit of an odd choice for me, I'd usually be looking for the latest gimmicks and gadgets but having realised I usually get fed up playing with the phone after the first few hours and getting annoyed with battery life, call quality, e-mail, reliability etc, I went for something different and am I glad I did! The 9700 does exactly what I want and what it's supposed to do it does to prefection! The battery is fantastic, so easy and quick to type on, call quality is superb and get's a fantasic 3G signal where all my other phones have failed miserably. I feel I should have picked a Blackberry earlier, I'm not really sold on big, touch screen devices, I certainly can't type anywhere near as fast on a touch screen as this Blackberry, clicking on links etc is so much easier with the trackpad. This Blackberry just works. End of. * Brilliant fast service from mobilefun too. Arrived with me next day after ordering!

Not convinced by this little 'piece'! It's very 'pretty' if a phone can be described as pretty but oh, that bloomin OS is still the same as it has been for years - at least, most of it! I couldn't find how to separate the sms and email messages. Still, no biggy you cry and indeed it's not but more importantly, it keeps freezing on webpages, despite having a good wifi/GPRS/3G signal! I don't know what the call quality is like as I haven't made or received any calls on it so I'm afraid it's going back to these nice chaps at MobileFun - of course, as ever, their speedy delivery and excellent customer service is exemplary - if only more web based stores operated to this high standard - there is one but I am not going to mention names! Don't let my review put you off buying this - it's a nice handset as I said but I think I've been too used to a touchscreen phone and therefore a bigger keyboard - and no problems with internet access!!!
