HIGHLY RECOMMENDED

Researched the web before buying this. A problem is that some "chargers" only maintain the system without actually charging the battery. On a recent journey battery was 92% and reached 99% after 40 minutes. This was despite having full location/map services running. It is a robust item (I once had one fall to pieces on inserting into the car cigar lighter) with a light thar shows it is alive. Fits securely. The only negative is that, although it can stretch a bit, the cable could be a bit longer. iPhone just about sits on the passenger seat OK.

Works a treat.

I had a lighter to USB converter and a multi lighter with USB out before I got an iPhone and neither charged the 3GS with an Apple cable. This little beauty did the trick straight away, worth every penny.
