PDair Leather Flip Case - Nokia 5800 Xpress Music

This case is the second Pdair case I've had for Nokia 5800's. The first was stolen along with the phone a few weeks ago. I bought the same case again because this case has saved my phone from so much damage! It has fallen to the tile floor in the gym several times, been down the stairs at least twice, and suffered numerous other scrapes. The case fits perfectly, and you can clip it to a belt or simply carry it in a pocket. An excellent case, much better protection than the standard Nokia case. Highly recommended.

Well constructed phone case, but as a result somewhat bulky i.e. the thickness of the leather makes it difficult to use icons/keys around edge of touchscreen. Belt clip arrangement also bulky, causing phone to stand somewhat proud of belt when fitted.

There are plenty of cheap cases but if you want what I consider to be the best, then this is the one. It fits my nokia 5800 perfectly, the material, stitching and design are excellent. There is just enough padding to protect the phone without making it too bulky. A couple of slots for microSD cards would make this product perfect.

I ordered this case largely as a result of these favourable reviews and was very pleased to see an improvement on the design since Pathian's comments. The case I recieved has only one large cut away at the top right, thereby removing the problem noted by Pathian. The case is really well made and supports the phone very well. My only criticism would be the bulkiness of the belt clip when fitted onto the phone. I like the removable design but this makes the whole unit much fatter. There is also a tendancy for the clip to allow the phone to twist while wearing it. However, I would still recommend buying this case for the 5800. It looks and feels great. Also, delivery was excellent - ordered at 4pm on Thurs and it was with me the next morning!

Fantastic service and delivery from Mobilefun yet again - excellent! Case is a perfect fix for the 5800 and very well made. All the ports and the stylus are easy to get to, the only thing is that you need to un-pop the top case flap to get the charger plugged in, but that's a very minor issue (I've seen the same thing with other leather cases for this phone). A good balance between protection and keeping the overall phone size small - this case isn't going to give you one of those "tombstone-sized lump in your pocket" moments. Thoroughly recommended. :)

Just noticed a design flaw in this case. The 5800 uses sensors to disable the touchscreen during a call (so you don't accidentally select something with your cheek or ear, etc.). The case has cutouts for the speaker and the user-facing camera, but there's a piece of leather between these that obscures the sensors. This causes the phone to disable the screen during calls, which is a pain when it's a call that involves entering details via a keypad (i.e. if you call Vodafone on 191 and have to select things from the automated menu) as you're unable to do so. Same thing with calendar alerts in that you can't access the phone without repeatedly using the cancel call/lock/unlock buttons. There's a workaround, if like me, you're prepared to cut out the piece of leather at the top of the case to allow the sensors to 'see' again. You just need to cut right across so that the seperate oblong/circular cutouts are now one long oblong cutout. If you're not prepared to do this, you're best avoiding this case until PDair amend their design.

This fits the 5800 like a glove. The leather is beautifully stitched. The belt clip design that locks onto the clip and then releases is beautifully engineered. If you have a 5800 (and are not a vegan) you will love this.
