HTC BP E270 Touch Diamond Extended Battery & Back Cover

I bought this as the original battery was needing charging every night. After charging this one, I didn't need to charge it again for 8 days! And that is with almost continual use. Very impressed.

This battery has transformed the phone. The back cover is so much nicer with its rubbery feel. Its no longer a finger print magnet. The extra weight of the battery is nice and the few mm extra thickness is hardly noticable. Most importantly the phone can be used for gps, listening to music and surfing the net without the battery running flat in next to no time. From normal use, texts and calls i get 5 days out of the phone now. A recommended upgrade.

This product is superb, it immediately makes the Touch Diamond usable for long periods of time without the need to plug in every few hours. The back cover has a really tactile feel and I much prefer it to the original both in looks and feel. When fitted with the new battery and cover, you will notice a little extra weight which in my view is a good thing as it makes the device feel more solid. If you have a Touch Diamond, I thoroughly recommend this great value upgrade, buy it now!

The whole phone now weighs 116g so that's 6 grams more, not much. The new back is flatter too which is better but it no longer fitted in my Brodit car holder so they need to make a slightly deeper one (I fixed it with a knife). It lasted 24 hours after its 1st charge using Tomtom for over an hour and Google Maps for 1/2 hour which we know to be big drainers. I do notice the phone in my pocket now which I didn't before but for some people, perhaps thats better. More updates on the battery life later

Finally got hold of this. I can tell people that it's no more than 2 mm thicker than the original back but one point to note, it's matte and not shinny like the original, which I prefer because it doesn't get covered in finger prints so easily. The camera lens is larger too so it'll let in more light. Not sure about battery life yet as it's on charge right now but as soon as I know (weekend probably now) I'll update this.

I have very mixed views about this product. I held off buying the cheaper copies because of the frankly awful replacement covers supplied with non HTC kits. Performance of the new battery is great, now it easily lasts all day regardless of activity. However immediately after fitting the new cover I was struck by the impact that adding an extra 4mm or so thickness and a lot of weight made. No longer is my Diamond the sleek, sexy phone it once was, somehow it now reminds me of the brick I used to have. The back cover has a strange finish too, instead of the original high gloss (which was a dreadful fingerprint-trap), the replacement has a wierd (but strangely tactile) matt finish that feels a bit like much softer plastic than it actually is. At least prints & scratches no longer show up. In summary, the diamond with extended battery now performs like the phone I hoped I was buying, but looks like a stealth bomber. It does everything I want for work, but if I want to impress my friends I will probably put the old battery & cover back for going out to the pub.
