I purchased this kit along with a Brodit ProClip Mount. There are many ProClip designs available to suit various vehicles/phones and the two solutions together provide a very sturdy mounting system that requires no screws or adhesive based installation. (Great when it comes to the resale of your car!) Because the active holder provides a swivel function I was able to direct the phone with a more suitable viewing angle while driving and something I couldn't do with a normal vent mounted phone holder. In short, it was installed within minutes at dashboard level and as I also use the phone with a Sat Nav software, it means I no longer have unsightly cables running down from the windscreen as I did with my original Sat Nav system (particularly as my battery was knackered and it needed to be constantly connect to the 12v ciggie supply) Of course, it is not a complete hands free solution so a bluetooth adapter for receiving calls is highly recommended. Seriously, for a tidy solution that works, it's worth the investment.
