Good value for your money
Just got this Navicore receiver which arrived in less than 24 hours after ordering. 10 Points already MobileFun... Needed a little help (which I got from your Support team on the phone) in pairing the device which was easy (FYI: the passkey is four zeros 0000). In the office now, but cant wait to get out to try this receiver out. Look for my review on that!

Works With N93 & Nokia Maps
Was thinking of upgrading to Nokia N95 for it's GPS and maps, but then found that the maps were free and compatible with the N73. Downloaded it and found them better than tomtom for POIs. With little research I got this gps receiver for it, and within a couple of minutes out of the box, it's working perfectly. Why spend £200+ on a tomtom like device when this £35 does the job? Brilliant... (oh, and standard delivery arrived the next day - well done mobilefun & the Post Office).

Fantastic with TomTom and Nokia N95
This is an absolutely fantastic piece of kit. Works flawlessly with the Nokia N95 running firmware version 12.0.0.13 and TomTom for symbian version 6.01. Gets a lock either instantly or in around 30 seconds depending on where I am located. Once it locks it has never dropped connection once. I have also used it with Nokia Sports tracker which is great for plotting walks that you have done and uploading the results to Google Earth. The default Pairing code for attaching this to the Nokia via Bluetooth is 0000. Top marks to Mobile fun for Next Day delivery!

Worked out of box
Next day delivered. Worked out the box on Nokia N80. Even in lounge. Mobile Fun say cable supplied is only for charging not to use with laptops etc. Although is said on description it will. Also Holux site seems to have disappeared to get any drivers. Anybody got it to work with a data cable.

Great
I am so far completely satisfied with the receiver. Had no problems connecting it with my P910i and using it. Did not need much of instruction and what was available was enough. As for processig the order - I ordered it on a Monday, just after midnight and on Tuesday morning it was already there. What more can I say...

this item works well with the nokia N70 but it does lose it's signal when you most need it. the company is good in helping you and quick at sending out the items.

Good after set up headaches
Arrived promptly one day after ordering.
Couldn t get this to pair with my Nokia 6120 at first. GPS aps did not find the device and manual pairing gave me an error when trying to pair with code 0000 Couldn t get any of the supplied software to do anything useful and nor did Holux driver work on my Win XP PC so as far as I can tell you can only use the USB to charge the device.
In the end resolved the problem with the 6120 by resetting the phone. I tried my phone with another borrowed bluetooth GPS unit before buying this one and I think the apps were looking for the old GPS unit Found these instruction on resetting (normal reser worked for me):
- Normal Reset (*#7780#) : Restores ini files from rom but preserves user data (photos, 3rd party apps etc)
- Deep Reset (*#7370#) : This reformats completely the C: drive. All applications and files stored on this drive will be lost and clean default files will be rewritten.
In both case, the phone will ask you a confirmation and you will have to enter a security code (12345 by default).

Excellent
Super fast standard delivery from Mobile Fun.
Pro's of device:
* Easy paring to laptop and Pocket PC
* Good accuracy - almost always within 1-5m
* Once locked on it hasn't dropped satellite signal when outside or in the car..
..picks signal back up quickly when you emerge from tunnels or indoors
* Works perfectly from glovebox, pocket, train and usually indoors (near exterior walls)
* Good value - same device as £60 Holix 240
* Same mini-usb as my Pocket PC - I now have a car-charger for both in with the price!
Con's of device:
* Must be switched on and left static (on windowsill if indoors) for 1-3mins to gain satellite lock/use..
..unlike car GPS, this device will not lock on from cold (off position) when on the move.
Also:
If you've no navigation software on your Pocket PC (I use google Maps) SirfGPStweak (freeware) is good to view satellite activity and signal strength

Good value
I have a Holux GPSlim 236 which has been excellent for a couple of years but the Bluetooth has just started to play up so decided on a replacement. The Holux 240 looked the obvious choice but after some research I found that it is the same item as the Navicore Slim (it has Holux GPSlim 240 on the back label!)
The Navicore however being much smaller has a low power version of the SIRF III chipset and this means the Bluetooth range is only just under 1 metre rather than the 3m advertised and the 3m that the GPSlim 236 operates at.
The GPS operation is fine and seems to be only marginally worse than the GPSlim 236 (which is brilliant) if it is locked in a glovebox or well hidden and this is probably due to the smaller antennae.
Overall however in view of it's lower cost and size it is good value.

Top Kit
First off, Mobile Fun. Excellent service. Goods ordered 10 am Monday, confirmation text received 12:10 (nice touch) goods received 09:10 Tuesday morning. I used with regular postage method too.
Had real problems in the first instance receiving GPS signal. In fact took 15 minutes first time it was initiated. That's down to 2-3 minutes cold start now.
I'll be using it extensively over the next few weeks paired with a Dell Axim X50v. I'll report back when I return

Brilliant stuff!
Delivered next day by mobilefun, brilliant receiver, very sensitive and the connector is standard mini-USB as used on most Smartphones so will charge with any sync cable you already have (though one is provided anyway).
Big bonus is a physical power switch rather than a soft button. This means you can install the unit in a car, leave it switched on and charge it using the supplied adaptor from a switched positive so it's ready each time you start the car. Only criticism is it looks to be a sealed unit so the battery cannot be easily replaced, but with it being this cheap, that's hardly a consideration.

Holux GPSlim240 in different colours
Great device, delivered next day. Exactly the same as the (twice the price) Holux GPSlim240, which I also own.
The only problem is that the USB port is non-standard and the supplied USB cable can only be used for charging the device. To use it with a non-Bluetooth capable laptop requires a proprietary cable that Mobile Fun don't seem to stock.
Other than that, this device is a genuine bargain.

Top Marks
This is just a re-badged Holux receiver (the Holux one is black) and I have to say I am very impressed with it.
It's works perfectly with my Nokia N73 and TomTom Nav 6. The battery life is only 8 hours but this isn't really an issue as it comes with a USB cable which connects to your laptop/PC or to your car cigar lighter using the supplied adaptor.

Excellent
Used this with 3 different phones over the last 2 weeks and it's excellent
- low power consumption
- quick fix
- sensitive - can maintain fix indoors, within glovebox of car etc
- small/light.
I do have a problem with the lanyard which needs an exchange, but otherwise this is excellent.
Note that this does not come with any sw, but works fine with TomTom 6 & Nokia maps/smart2go.

Navicore Slim GPS
It works with my Nokia N80 with Tom Tom. Its smaller than a packet of chewing gum. Acquires signal from both mobile and satellite quickly enough for me. Just as quickly as the Holux one I lost. It is a Holux product (it says so on the back) but appears to be half the price! Not used the software so can't comment. It comes with a car charger and USB cable - you can't go wrong for this price.

Brilliant piece of kit!
Ordered 5PM, sent 5:48PM, text notification 6:05PM, received 9AM next day. Well done Mobilefun.
As for the GPS, well what can I say. Well, the first thing is "Yes, it really is TINY."
As for performance, it got a fix in well under a minute, took all of about 30 seconds to pair to my Palm PDA, works brilliantly with the software I have installed, (Cachemate and Mapopolis) and fits in my hat, which is great for Geocaching! :o)
Also works fine with my lappy running Autoroute 2007 and Garmin City Navigator 9 using Bluetooth.
If you need USB connection, you need to buy a lead, coz the one supplied only charges the battery. :o(
And it IS a Holux GPSlim240, it's not rebadged. Navicore is the name of the navigation software for Symbian OS that comes with it. I can't comment on the software, coz my phone is too old, like me!
All at the best price I could find anywhere, including eBay.
Go on, treat yourself. You wont be disappointed!!!
Steve.

Great little GPS receiver. Paired in seconds, locks on within seconds. A bit of extra documentation in the box would have been great.

Part 2
I've had this product for a month now, and I'm very sorry to say that it does not work anymore. I spent 1.5 weeks not using it, and when I switch it on now, none of my devices are able to communicate with it decently. The most I've arrived is one particular program logging communications, of 90% of them would be bad data. I hope to resolve this with MobileFun as ASAP.

Well worth considering
I've had my Navicore for 3 weeks now and am very impressed. Aquisition time is good, the quoted battery life seems beliveable (battery hasn't failed on me yet in 'normal' use. For the price, excellent value. The only downside is the bluetooth connection. The max. range I get paired with my Palm LD is around 1-1.2m, which is isn't normally a problem for me, but I was surprised it was so low.

Value for money and size
Regarding the Navicore, I bought it mostly for the size, as I knew it was not the best out there, but considering I will mostly use it whilst walking as light as possible but having a wallet, a PDA, and a Z750 camera in my pocket, something this size is more than useful!
In central London I was disappointed with the accuracy if I left it in my pocket, however hanging around my neck was better. The internal Static Navigation setting is set by default to off, which is good for pedestrian GPS.
Regarding making a PC recognise the device when connected with the USB cable, since it is just a rebranded Holux, just download the drivers from the HOLUX website (http://www.holux.com/product/search.htm?filename=gpsreceiver_bluetooth_index.htm&target=gpsreceiver0&level=grandson)
Overall a good device, battery life is a bit on the short side, after all it is just a Li-Ion battery.
I did not try the software as I have no use for it.

A fantastic, easy to use Bluetooth GPS receiver
Firstly, Mobile Fun delivered as promised - next working day which I was very pleased with, so thanks MF.
Everything was present in the box:
Navicore GPS receiver, USB cable, Car adaptor, software CD and neck lanyard.
Straight out of the box I turned on the GPS receiver and the display illuminated the Bluetooth and GPS symbols.
Pairing the Navicore with my Sony Ericsson K800i took 20 seconds (I guessed the 0000 pairing code) and armed with software from Nav4all.com, I was away!
I had no need to use the CD, I believe there is some software on there as well as the manuals though.
The Navicore is the size of a pack of Wrigleys Spearmint gum and locked onto a signal within a couple of minutes of being outside of the building.
Battery life is quoted at being >8 hours, but even if it's less than that I've got the charger so it shouldn't be a problem.
Compared to a TomTom 700, the Navicore+Nav4All setup is a lot less friendly to use but at a fraction of the price deserves consideration.
Overall, I'd recommend it if you want simple Sat Nav.

Works like a scorcher!
Order took 4 days to get to me, but was worth the wait :-)
As soon as I switched the Navicore on it hooked up with my Nokia N73 abd I have just used it with SportsTracker and it works really well. The Sirf chipset works better than my Garmin Forerunner does, but I have not yet found a piece of software that will do what the Garmin does. Once I do I think I may be a convert!
I have used it in the house too, so the sensitivity is obviously good. Carrying it in a bag, or pocket for sport use would be no problem.

Great value for money
Let me start by saying how amazed I was when my order arrived at my house the next working day!!.
The Navicore gps receiver is smaller than I expected (which is a good thing). It started up flawlessly, paired with my PDA and even saw 3 satelites (enough for a signal in TomTom) from inside my house!!
Only problem I see is that WinXP do not recognise it (they don't have to) when it is connected at the usb port to charge, and you get an anoying "Device not recognised..." message.

Research Pays!
I did some research and this is the same receiver as the more expensive Holux GPSSLim 240 that everyone raves about. I still can't believe its so cheap! At first I thought its a cheap knock off, but its just rebranded, I don't know why. It works a treat, locking onto satilltes in seconds and not letting go, even when driving in the city. Worth every penny!

No problems here
I'm not sure why the other reviewer has had problems with his, my ones been going great now for 3 months. I use mine extensively in my day to day job and I can honestly say I haven't used a better GPS receiver. It gets a satillite lock in seconds and up and running with TomTom as soon as its turned on.

Mint!
I love this. Its been going strong for a couple of months now, and picks up satillites stright away when turned on, and never looses signal. I keep mine in the glove box these days, and it works just fine. Pairs with TomTom from the word go. If anything though, the battery life is good but not the best, It'll last about 2-3 weeks between charges. My older one would go just over a month. Apart form that I love it!

Should cost more.
I can't believe this is so cheap, as I've seen the same receiver in black sold for £80+
You won't believe how tiny it is, but it doesn't affect its perfomance once bit. It turns on, locks on to satilltes and won't let go until you turn the little bugger off. I espcially like the "hidden" leds, a very nice touch. My only gripe is the battery isn't changable, its built in and you can't carry a spare. Apart form that, its great.

Good but a few issues
I've had these for about 3 months now, and in generally rate it pretty well.
Pros:
Excellent reception
Easy to use
Works with TomTom and other software
Good manual
Well designed
Price
Cons:
Can't change the battery
Battery life is good but not the best
Given a choice with hindsight I still would have picked the GPS receiver, as if I'm honest, having to charge it 1 a month is pretty good. Its not the best, but the size and reception more then makes up for this minor flaw.

great item
I previously used a Royaltek SiRF II receiver which was quite unreliable and someitmes took quite a while to get a lock on and the sensitivity was not that good. After using this receiver everything seems to be much better, and I can use it while its in my glovebox, and the size and cool white colour are a bonus.

Part 2
Ok so its been almost a month since i started using this. The first one was genuinely duff and to their credit, mobile fun turned a new one around in a day(!) which is fantastic.
The receiver however is poor. Its better than the first, but after a few weeks of using i almost chucked on the M3 today (30/01/07). One day it'll fix in minutes, the next 10 mins, today i had driven from reading to portsmouth and was almost home before it found a fix...not good. This is sat on the dash in full view of the sky! I'm going to keep it as a spare rather than bin it...and having looked at the other reviews other cheaper models appear more reliable. Be warned!

Not good
The only part of this that rates as 5 star was the speed the order was processed and delivered...well done mobile fun.
I'm very disapointed with this bit of kit. I've had the navicore software on my phone since it was launched and was using the supplied globalsat reciever which was great until it recently packed up so i thought i'd go for this. It connected straight to the phone and on first attempt took about 5 mins to find position. Now it takes over an hour, then keeps dropping, and the battery wont hold a charge. I'm returning it in the hope that i got the duff one. Whenits replaced i hope to right something more favourable!
